Discussion or statement? I don't have one cause I can't stand big keyrings but for those who do.. Why would I be bothered? Not my heavy pocket and if it gives peace of mind to the one carrying that is just great in my book It's not failure if you learn something from it
Some of us actually have more than one 'keyring'. One with just minimal actual keys for vehicle, office, and home. Separate 'ring' with some small tools on it which might be in a pocket; might be on a belt; might be in a bag. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I carry this in my left pocket, keys in my right. I use at least one of these every day. (Except the bead, I've never used the bead, but I made it and like it). And the lanyard is reflective in case I lose it. I have added and subtracted things that didn't end up being useful. But I've had this little keyring kit for a while and don't know what I'd do without it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There are keyrings (hated ) and toolchains (loved) in my EDC philosophy. What's wrong about this ? Everybody his own.
If weight, bulk, etc weren't an issue I'd love to have a big prepper keychain. But in reality, I hate bulk and inefficiency so the concept doesn't work for me. I also kind of weird out when I feel stuff in my pockets rubbing my legs. It's kind of the same sensation when I find glitter on my clothes.
I don't like tools on my key chain but I see the appeal and have no problem with other folks doing it.
I can't stand bulge in my Pocket, but if I can I would have my entire toolbox on me everychere anytime. Soldering iron ? Yes please ! Ratchet and every bits possible ? Yes ! Pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, torch lighter, arc welder, oxy-acetylen torch, tube bender ? Yes ! Lol I might have gone a little too far, but I totally understand all those keychain without keys at all. Instead of a big keychain, I have a mini tool set in my bag that seems to cover my on-the-go needs for emergency situtations EDIT : my actual keychain
Personally, I can't stand a wad of keys and tools, so I try to minimize how much I put on a keyring (and most of my keys are in a KeyPort). I can definitely understand the appeal of having all the tools you want to carry in one ready-to-go bundle, though.
I don't like too much stuff in my pockets either, but I have to test all of our new products (prototypes) in addition to offering an easy way to explain myself. What I mean is that every time someone asks me what I do for a living, I find that nobody really understands EDC or the general classification of "Personal Accessories". So I try to explain it, and the types of products that we develop, and I get the typical deer-in-the-headlights look. At that point, I just find it easier to pull out my keychain... Oh, and I would post a pic of my keychain here but there are some top secret things on it ATM
My keychain for each vehicle has 1 key, a glow fob and a small light. HOWEVER, I do have lots of pretty jewelry, er...tools, that I use on occasion. That's just part of the EDC fun.
I could not agree more....Place like Michael's crafts make me twitch....no matter where you walk, you have to watch you are not brushing up against anything, otherwise you get glitter bombed.
Is it a new Ti Werthers Original bead? My grampy would lose his mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
