My first EDC knife was a small penknife. Given to me about the age of 7 by my maternal grandfather. My first lockback folder was a Gerber Folding Sportsman II.

Are we talking first knife or first knife you carried everyday? I doubt that Elementary kids were packing everyday. Really?

I EDC'ed a pocket knife as soon as my grandfather gave it to me. Including to school. I was about 7 years old then.

Times were different back in the day. Now days.. expulsion and probably counseling. I would not recommend attempting to carry a knife before college.

I heartily agree. My childhood now seems as if it were a hundred years ago. A very different time. Knives were tools, not weapons of terror.

It's a misdemeanor for students to carry on school on school grounds till the age of 21.(Where I live) We can carry an “ordinary pocket knife.” I bet the guy that wrote that would drop dead if he saw what we call ordinary. hahahaha

My first ever EDC Knife was a Spyderco Endura Clipit with fully serrated blade with fixed Zytel Clip. Lost the first one to my Dad (LOL!), lost the next one on a bus (Sigh!).

Browning lockback 1/2 serrated. Pocket clip broke and I lost it. That's when the wife bought me a Spyderco. :)

Very first knife was a Cub Scout knife (which is long, long gone). First knife I purchased and carried until I lost it was a Buck Companion.

Mine was an old Chinese knockoff automatic that my uncle picked up overseas. Carried it for about 2 yrs before I was told that I couldn't legally carry an auto. Demoted it to home duty after that day.

My first was a Spyderco Tenacious (big surprise!). This was about two years ago. I still carry it everyday along with my Sage 1. They make for a superb one-two combo!

First EDC. It was one of those little blue cubscout knives. Got it for Christmas 1972. My dad told me not to bring it to school but I did anyway. I carried that knife into highschool and have been carrying a knife ever since.
