Lol! A friend of mine had this happen with a pair of 5.11 gloves. A little bit amusing. But yeah, don't buy those.

I thought I was in the early stages of frostbite too (I was doing some mountain climbing / scrambling in freezing temps). Freaked me the hell out, until I realized it was just the dye.

My go to general purpose duty gloves have become the Station Grip gloves from 5.11 Tactical. They run true to size, dry quickly and are very comfortable. I've not experienced any color bleeding issues with any of the 5.11 gloves I have used.

Ironclad "Tac Ops" gloves - very simple, black, non-descript.

Wore a pair all through Iraq and Bragg - they finally died when a lawnmower blade cut the palm of the glove open, but left my hands intact.

I am a huge fan of Mechanix Original Covert glove, they fit so great! and i can do anything (almost) with those on. Unfortunatly i just trashed mine because they were soaked in blod after i had to move a bleeding guy away from the road in a traffic accident before i had the chance to change to latex gloves. but as soon as the funds are there i will buy another pair right away..

+1 for Mechanix Covert gloves. I've had this pair for about 4 years now. They lasted through a trip overseas with the military, and all my drills since then. I have some split rings put through the pull loops so that I can hang them off a Grimlok carabiner on my MOLLE vest in the field. They're not the warmest or most waterproof, but they're extremely tactile and they can take one heck of a beatin. :)

I use some leather driver gloves for work, usually the 3 pack at Costco for $15 does the trick. For general purpose to keep in the bag/pickup I have Mechanix Fast Fit.

I own 3 pairs of the Original Mechanix Glove and I like them a lot. I bought my first pair in black from Walmart about 5 years go then I found a guy on EBay shortly after and I bought a pair of red (my favorite color) and two pairs of blue. One blue was a Bday gift to my dad.

A few months ago I did find a 3 pack of gloves kind of like Mechanix gloves at Home Depot for $9.99. The colors were yellow, grey, and red. There some nice gloves. Well worth the price.

My gloves have been on the job everyday, ran through the washer once, and they still work great. The thumb got a slice in it because I had to much pressure on a pair of mini copper cutters. Happened that day after my first post, but it hasn't gotten any worse.

I think I could find a lot of uses for those Maxiflex gloves. I tend to wear goatskin gloves more than any others because they are thin enough to provide good tactile feel yet the strength to weight ratio is very high, plus they are cheap and I like the way they look.
