My RAT knives are on the shelf since I got this beauty. She opens really smoothly, which RATs have never done, in my experience.

I'm curious about the Victorinox Cadet. It seems to be one of the most beloved SAKs out there, but I would think a knife like the Pioneer or Farmer would be more popular. Not as compact, but you get an awl, a scissors, or even a saw, in place of the nail file.

Not sure about anyone else, but I am a fan of the Cadet as a 'gentleman's knife' for days when I wear a suit. Slim, lightweight, just what I need on those days.

You keep bring up wearing a suit...somehow the thought of an EDC'er in a suit seems strangely contradictory! Although Im a slacks and hawaiin shirt business casual guy anymore vs shirt and tie (25 yrs +)

In my business garb I tend towards the smaller edc...Peanut, Roadie, # 6 Opi, tiny Texas Toothpick, etc. but the minute I get home and into cargo shorts or jeans, I add in a LM or larger SAK and all is right with the world! I have NO Alox SAK's. Maybe that needs to be addressed!

LOL. I do try to avoid the suit as much as possible -- and mostly am successful in doing so! But there are times... including when I need to go to synagogue for religious services! Professionally, I'm mostly a management consultant and sometimes ya need the suit as camouflage if nothing else! ;-)
