Please educate & entertain me with pics of your most sought after top loading back packs.
I am a proud owner of a new Arcteryx Spear 20 in silver sage. You can check it out on REI's website. I'll post pics someday. My favorite pack by far. Surpasses anything i've owned by Maxped.
Berghaus Munro 35. Super-simple, small enough for EDC and big enough for overnighters. No zips, PALS, bladder pouches, external pockets or organisation (bar one tiny zipped pocket in the lid). Immensely strong, lightweight ally frame, comfy, only available in OD ;D I keep selling/swapping/giving them away and then immediately buying another. My Kifaru Zulu is probably a better pack really, but it will never replace the Munro in my heart.
Can I say my MOLLEX ? I know it has zippered bottom access too......but I rarely use it. LOL
Jandd Zoor Alpinist is my favorite for travel and trekking.
I really love the roll top back pack from timbuk2. Im not sure if they are still selling it thou.
8"H x 11½"W x 6¼"D.
2,000 cu. in. $50
I like my Camelbak TriZip.
I love my RedOxx C-Ruck. The self adjusting shoulder straps alone make this pack worth the money.
Being officially an "old guy" I have had an ongoing love affair with the large ALICE pack (dump it all in; dump out as needed) for many years. But recently I picked up a used, VG condition Army ACU MOLLE II assault pack (not the patrol version, this is the big guy with 4000 cubic inches in the main section and an additional 500 cubic inches in each of the two side "sustainment" pouches). Cost was a bit less than $50.
I have to say that compared to the Alice pack the MOLLE II is a fantastic improvement in materials, comfort (I'm especially impressed with the shoulder straps and the waist belt), and construction. When I don't use it for backpacking I pile all of my other various bags and packs in it. Plenty of these MOLLE packs out there for very reasonable prices, too. But, it is tactical to the max (ACU camo).
never heard of them. Very cool stuff. Thanks Grayman!!
PM sent, for identifying one,please!
I've emailed you back, Gnarly: hope you can pick off one of these great packs. Good luck!
Got one! Had been looking for one like this for awhile, but the ad descriptors were always confusing.....I appreciate your help,Saitta.
This is my first daily bag that is top loading, and I love it!
That is a very good looking bag. I've been trying to go for the non-tactical look lately and that fits perfectly! Thanks for pointing me to them.
Always glad to help out another EDC Forum member. After the pack arrives let me know what you think of it.
