I have never carried a comb. I wonder what percentage of people who do were around during the 50's?
    Kinda reminds me of Fonzie.

Ha ha...I was born in 1952, so I grew up during the Fonzie 1950s era and the 1960s.

When I was a kid I even put Bryllcreme (or was it spelled Brillcreme?) on my hair. What is Bryllcreme, you ask?
It was a greasy whitish substance to keep your hair slicked and parted and in place.

    The TV ad song went:

"Bryllcreme, a little dab will do ya
    Bryllcreme, it looks so debonair
Brylcreme, the gals will all talk to ya
When you put some Bryllcreme in your hair!"

    <sing along, boys & girls> :-X

So we all looked like Ricky Ricardo or some greaser. I wonder if they
    still sell the stuff?

It all seems so strange now, right? But it's fun to remember.

:welcome: Welcome to EDC Forums. I carry a comb, but I had crew cuts during most of the 1950s.

Yup, the small one in my SOS kit from Victorinox although I pretty much use it for my moustache and goatee...my hair is too long and curly to get a comb thru it unless I'm fresh outta the shower or want to spend 10 minuites and give birth to a small furry animal

My hair does what it wants so after 40+ years I gave up! Just wash...rinse...comb and out the door.

Well, kimsalls, there aren't too many of us from the 50's that have enough hair to bother with a comb ... but, then think of all of the time I'm saving.

I keep my hair short, so don't need a comb.
only use I have for my ones is as a shaving guard if I'm wearing a beard/mustache, which is very much an on/off thing (mostly off, but it's nice to experiment)

I've carried one once or twice when I was in a hurry and needed to comb my hair on the go. I might start carrying one just in case. It would give me more opportunities to use my cheap bali-comb, which I bought out of sheer novelty.

Still carry an Ace comb. Don't have a lot of hair to comb but it works pretty good on my beard :)

I carry a wooden comb. My ex turned me on to them, they feel so much better going through my hair than a plastic one does. Carried one since "84.
