    :iagree:

I've stopped watching Bear since his show has changed - he seems to be going more for shock than information now.

This is wrong. No more of this, please.

So is this. It's baiting and it won't be tolerated, no matter how small a font you use.

Let's behave like adults if we're going to post things, all right people?

I don't think I could do it until I was really hungry.

My half sister has eaten scorpions before and said it was not that bad. I have only met her twice and spent a week with her. She had me try many things that I could not get down. :p

Not on a bet. My buddy tried to crush one with a fire extinguisher, in Afghanistan. It got REAL angry after that.

OK now you're making me queasy! :green: BTW, the eating your liver statement reminds me of a what a college buddy always used to say when he was hungry, "Come on! Let's get something to eat already! My large intestine is starting to eat my small intestine!"

As with a lot of things that Bear eats, as long as I roast it on a fire rather than have it raw, I think I could eat it.

I think Id have be VERY hungry, & Im not sure eating a spider at the strong risk of throwing up (and losing valuable fluid) would be the best option.
I suspect ALL the horrid things that he eats on "Disgusting Dining with Bear Gryllz" (or whatever his show is called?) could be made alot more palatable (and safer!) by cooking them or at the very least KILLING them first.

Some (or most!) of the things he eats are clearly done for dramatic effect & are NOT, IMHO, especially good examples of how to survive.

Entertaining, if often annoying, television though!

Just thinking: How long can a camel spider go between meals?
If camel spiders are living in a place then presumably passing camels are not too far apart, so find your camel spider and wait with it for the next camel and cut a T bone or two from that!

I doubt I would be able to choke down a spider. wouldn't be able to get past the whole poison thing, even if it wasn't a poisonous spider.

I think the gag reflex bit about how you wouldn't want to vomit and loose valuable fluids is a keen observation.

cockroaches maybe. ive seen enough people eat em on TV. grubs don't gross me out as much. larvae and stuff like that...not a big deal if you crush em up nice and good.

but a spider...might be where I draw the line.

I ate a snake, larvae things and some grubs. they weren't that bad. but I was with people who knew what they were doing, and I didn't have to catch the snake. probably did it more out of a desire to not get singled out as the guy that was too afraid to roll with the big boys though.

    spiders...ew...hm...nope.

Nope. Also watch Bizarre Foods and wouldn't be able to eat half that crap either. Even cooked.

My version is my stomach thinks my throat got cut.

I have eaten one of those clear lollipops that have scorpions in them, though. But it was only a little one & I made sure that the bit I took a bite of had alot of lollipop around it so it was "crunchy".

IIRC, they had them with ants & wasps in, too.

One of the common sayings around here is "Im so hungry I could eat a scabby dog!"
(and I often elaborate & add "and STILL have room for a Dolphin on toast!")
