This is a good point I don't know what I will do when I finally start to loose mine I'm 29 now
On a trip earlier this summer, I discovered that I had forgotten to pack a hat. I ended up buying an Outdoor Research Helios. It doesn't keep my head as cool as my Columbia Booney, but the brim is bigger and gives my head and neck more shade. The Helios also keeps its shape better than the Columbia and has a higher UPF factor.
And only $30 nice
Hey, has anyone tried the sealskinz bush hat, i have it in olive green its water proof and breathable, and a good price! its worth a buy
Haven't tried a Sealskinz. Here's a link to the OR Helios.
as stated on real deal thread...my much loved Tilley T4 left with my sister after a visit...and this forum and others led me to the real deal hat site...it's not the quality of a Tilley...but I'm gonna give it a whirl.
Buffs rock - never without one...or two...or three haha.
our family of 4 has a rack by the door...gotta be 40-50 ball caps there...we all wear 'em. a lot.
Last year I noticed a couple Tilley's in Waxed Cotton. One had a brim that was a little short to give ample sun coverage and the other was basically the same hat I had in their nylon mesh crown model. I made a few requests for a T3 Aussie snap-up brim style and just noticed they came through.
I will report back in a week or two after I budget one in ;~)
Got to love a filly, I have one i bought in 96 and still wear it today. awesome quality and durability
I have a couple of hats but this is the only one I love. Not me in the pic BTW, from the company website where I bought it.
Think mine are about 10 or so years old. Just took them into the shower and with an unused shave brush and some organic shampoo gave them a good cleaning.
I've been shaving my head for years now after I started to lose my hair. I mainly wear a ball cap but when it gets into the main part of summer I grab my trusty Tilly. I have a Columbia Omni Shade Booney that I wear also. The sun is brutal down here in the Southeast US and I don't play around when it comes to protecting myself from it.
