They are great watches, my only beef is that you can't wind them from the stem. I've got a SKX013 diver, and its little brother (picked it up overseas, don't know the model number). I think I could hammer nails with the big diver, and it would still keep good time.

The Grand Seiko watches are the apex of Seiko automatics...they cost more than a Rolex, but are masterpieces of mechanical precision.

173 mod that I've had forever. It's my beater, so I do replace the bezel ring every year or so.

I just got a new 2008 production Seiko 5 yesterday. It seems to run about 3 seconds slow over a 12 hour period. Am I right in assuming that while this is in the normal range of slow/fastness, one shouldn't even try to adjust it until it has been worn a month or so to break it in? Since most of these come new running fast, I wonder if mine won't break in to be about right on once the parts kinda polish themselves a little? Mine looks retro, which I kinda like, sorta 1960's to my eyes. I love the countersunk crown that can't catch on stuff. Protected crowns are the way to go.

my 4 year old monster on black nato with beadblasted hardware ;D

yes give it 30-45 days to settle down,
after break-in some watches slow down, others go faster and some don't change at all...
