They don't teach the "young guys" me how to even shoot a revolver or reload one so I went to the best and most knowedgeable sources the "old guys". The strips are pretty fast too when they are trained with.

I know just how it is. Back in my day I got a couple of the "old guys" to show me how best to use one of these.

On occasion, I WEAR the S&W Performance Center 8-round, 5-inch barrel N-Frame Model 627-5 .357 magnum with smooth walnut round-butt Craig Spegel combat grips on my waist in a snap-top, high-ride, FBI-cant pancake holster under my suitcoat. As backup, I CARRY the S&W scandium-frame J-Frame in a Mitch Rosen shoulder holster.

When I feel the need, I wear the 627-5 in a shoulder holster to take the weight, girth, and length of the big N-Frame off my hip.

I also carry a S&W Model 66 "snubbie" in a Galco high-ride belt holster in lieu of the N-Frame. The scandium J-Frame then goes into a pocket holster on the opposite side as the Model 66.

On RARE occasions when in ultra-confined spaces, the scandium revolver goes into a Mitch Rosen Model Workman in appendix carry backed-up by the Seecamp .32 semiauto again in the opposite carry location.

Where is Kalifornia? Or Cali? and what is a homicide directive?

My touch screen is shattered so my text can come out like a mon key got ahold of my phone. He was a homicide detective. As for where in California, I only know that it came from an older prison that had some vocational training program. Just to let you know, this short text had to be proofed three times because of the stupid screen. LOL!!! Stupid phone!!!

And just joking about the (K)alifornia thing. I used to live there and it's just a riff on how LEFT the state leans especially with the gun laws.

Perhaps you lived in a country where it did and still does "lean" to the left and it is unfortunate for you that you chose to live there.
Not all counties in California are like that. There are a few that favor concealed carry of firearms by the private citizen.

I now live in a "Will issue" state but you are correct about where I had to live, San Francisco and San Mateo County.

    I still haven't figured out my 4" .357 or step down to a 2 1/2' 38/357. The 4" is a M35, wish I could find the 3" barrel for it.

Yes I did sell the Charter in the picture several years ago. Many guns have come and gone over the years.

The Charter was by no means a bad gun, but in a 5 shot revolver I prefer an LCR to a S&W j-frame or anything else on the market. I've handled and owned many jframes and never have shot one that had a trigger pull comperable to a factory LCR.
Through ownership of many revolvers I have come to prefer the Ruger guns. I currently have the lcr (previously pictured) and a stainless Ruger Speed Six that get rotated; the Speed six usually gets the nod.

Model 60 Smith & Wesson in a Milt Sparks VM II. Two speed strips, Winchester 130 grain PDX1 +P. The only thing that's changed with this "rotation" over the past forty years is the ammo choice. As ballistics and bullets got better I would retrain using the new ammo choice. Your mileage may vary.

On the days when I do pocket carry, it's a S&W 642 in either a DeSantis Nemesis or Mika Round Cut pocket holster. I've found the rounded shape of the J Frame conceals nicely in the pocket, more so than the little single stack pistols. Just my $0.02.
