Black Monster vs Black Mako XL

Slightly prefer the design of Monster. On the other hand Orient is genuine Japan made timepiece.
Not certain about their movements. 7s26 or in-house?
Like the bezel of Monster but have heard complaints that it has some play.
Which is better Hardlex or Mineral?
Bracelet of Monster also seems more attractable mainly for its diver extension.

The Orient uses their own in house movement. #46943

Hardlex and Mineral are basically the same thing.

One thing that has always bugged me about the monster is the 20mm lugs. I think it would look better with 22mm lugs.

The Mako is definitely the more conservative looking of the two, so personal taste..i.e. wild vs mild decides.

If lume is at all important to you ... Seiko Monster is widely acknowledged to be outstanding, and possibly the "best" (or at least among the very brightest) - :D

Neither of my monsters have any play in the bezel. As mentioned the lume is outstanding and the new versions have come down in price.

I have both the orange and the black dive monster models from Seiko. And I'm going to be completely honest. I first purchased the orange monster. I absolutely LOVE the look, feel, and movement of this watch. But the screen got so scratched up and terrible looking so fast. I ended up buying the black monster as a replacement. And now I've just gone back to my Citizen. I'll admit, I'm hard on things. But that watch face cannot take much punishment, at all.

Either watch would be a good investment.
