I had one of the Gerber 600 multitools. I never used it so I gave it to my dad 4 years ago. I just got a Leatherman Kick earlier this week. It's the first multitool I've had since I gave the Gerber away. I've been breaking down everything in the house getting ready to moved and I've used it to take all of the furnature and large stuff apart. The only other tools I used were allen wrenches. I like it so far.

I have about half a dozen Multi Tools. All of them no name, cheaply made, $10 scrap metal. Oh, I've put them to use and they've done ok, but not outstanding by any means. I just don't have the money for a decent multi tool, and when I ask for them for B-days or Christmas, I never seem to get one. Today I went shooting with My younger brother and he hands me an old beat up, faded nylon belt case and inside is a Gerber 400 compact sport in black finish. Now, If that wasn't enough to make a lump come up in my throat...he says. "I carried this during my 2 tours in Iraq and after Katrina when I went down to help with cleanup. I have a couple others but thought you might like this one."

Now, My brother is a bit of a knucklehead and we don't always see eye to eye. But he's an alright guy and has a strong code of Honor that I respect. I know there are some better multi tools out there, but this will be the one that i'll always prefer.

I used to EDC the Gerber MP600 Pro Scout, but recently switched over to a Leatherman Surge. The Surge is a superior tool. I also have a LM Crunch that I carry in one of my daypacks.

I carry the Wave with me in my MaxPed EDC Pocket Org. Once I get another S2 Juice, I'll carry that in my pocket.

SAK still tool of choice for most tasks, but the recent additions of Swisstool and Wengergrip are proving to be very worthwhile purchases

I never leave home without my trust LM Charge TTi. To me it is almost as important as shoes and pants whenever leaving the house.

I am currently using a LM Wave (old). Haven't really gotten around to upgrading it. But if I purchase a new multi tool it would propably be a Leatherman.

I've been carrying a Leatherman mini tool since they came out. Since I found out it was discontinued, I've managed to pick up two more for a total of 6. I'll admit I can be stubborn about my multitool!

With all respect to those who agree with Foxfire, I much prefer the new model because of its increased versatility provided by interchangeable bits, a feature I use often. Because of the flat profile of the bits, I can carry a lot of utility in a manageable package. One drawback is the possibility of losing bits in the field, but when in boondock or heavy use mode, I carry a Core instead.
