I agree completely. The fit and finish on my Tenacious is head and shoulders above my made in Golden Colorado sprint run Manix 2. I was a little shocked to say the least. That said, I just pre-ordered a Para2 in earth brown with S35VN steel ;D.
Hest is not US made and not best choice IMHO I would go with new Kershaw Knockout coming out soon Lightweight, framelock deep carry quad mount pocket clip and USA made.
Hey guys, I keep looking for cool folders out there and have stumbled upon two that I would like your opinion on. These don't necessarily fit the criteria I stipulated earlier, but oh well. Spyderco Persian- (Love the ergos) Cold Steel- Medium Espada (looks like it has a very tough lock) Any comments or suggestions on these two or more would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes, John
Both nice blades, CS does have nice lock up. Dude your changing your criteria 180 degrees. Beware the eyes bigger then stomach syndrome. Espada to big to carry in pocket. I loved 5+ inch CS's for awhile til i realized my pants kept falling down from wait or i would tip over walking!
The Persian I had (original run with the black micarta and bolsters) was a great knife. Very comfortable in hand, solid, smooth. One of the best looking Spydercos there ever was in my opinion. The blade may or may not be the best fit for one's EDC uses. Turned out to be not quite the right profile for me. The smaller Persian with a little less dramatic shape could be different. The new runs in G10 are nice too.
Well guys, I know it's been a long time since I posted this question but after much consideration I finally decided on the Spyderco Dragonfly in green G-10. I think that what finally made me decide was the size to weight ratio, aesthetics and overall functionality of this little big knife. Thank you all for your help and your suggestions. I hope I have made a wise decision. Kind regards, John
This is one of my favorite knives. You won't be sorry. It's little, but really out performs it's size.
LEAFSTORM! For the money, you cannot go wrong, extremely nice knife, top notch quality in a very compact, pocket friendly size and shape!
Well, I have a bit of an update. The Spyderco Dragonfly arrived and I have to say it was a bitter sweet experience. On the one side, the size, weight and g-10 were really great and it felt just right. On the other hand, the lanyard sleeve was off center and the spyder hole had a nick of steel that stuck out that was not machined. Not big enough to cut you just enough to make the hole imperfect. I though after paying over $70.00 dollars for this knife that it would be perfect: it was not. So I sent it back and thought I'd give another brand a try so I actually ordered a Kershaw Scallion frame lock which is impeccable. Additionally, I am really liking the speed assist. Size and weight are right also. Thanks for listening, John
I suggest a para-military 2 and while it is not a frame lock it is USA made around 3" and have to say that the compression lock is really amazing. Not to mention its sub $150 and is an excellent knife
