Anyone kniw what type of organizer this is and where I could find it?
I don't know about this one, but you could check places like Macy's and whatnot for similar organizers. I know I've seen them around.
Found it. Just wish it had 7 slots in the bottom
i like this therad here is some old pics alot of things have came and gone
I've posted this in other threads here before, but here it is again
Lockable, water proof, and portable (when I don't have it cablelocked to the floor).
I've outgrown it though, so going to be expanding out into a second case; one for folders and the second one for fixed blades...
Is that thing pretty deep, or are those folders(If I'm seeing what I think I am) tucked in there just reeeeaally short?
I use this chest that my Dad bought me one Christmas a few years ago. Its a fancy version of an old school wooden machinist tool box(not much scale in this pic... its about 2 feet wide, and 10" deep front to back).
Folders in a couple small drawers, what you see in that one open drawer is ink for my fountain pens. They're in another drawer. Big drawers are a mix of fixed blades, watches, sheaths... Misc. EDC gear, and some storage of family photos too. Usually a few guns and ammo laying in the top that opens upward.
The ones on end are folders, that case has a mix of both folders and fixed right now.
The case itself is about 6 3/4" deep inside.
That's a really nice chest by the way, absolutely love those wood machinists boxes.
I do it like so:
I guess you all have seen the "Rotation shelf" in the livingroom by now. But you asked how I store them..
Looking at some of the solutions on here made me realise that keeping my EDCs in several drawers isn't the best option, so I bought an aluminium case today and some nice thick tearing foam and now I have to try and fit all my stuff in there. Will post pics when I am done.
Throw them all in my top drawer along with all the other junk in there. Makes it more difficult for the wife to know how many I have.
I have a 12 watch desktop case, it has 4 small drawers under, fits 3 or 4 knives each. Then I have a tool box I take to hunting camp w the fixed blades and a stone. I basically just check them for sharpness even tho they rarely get used.

Well, I was able to photograph my new solution this weekend. I bought an aluminium case and at work found some tearable foam to put in the case. This foam is terrific stuff, as you can customize it very easily.
The layer that is outside the case goes on top of the bottom layer, the case can still be closed and all the knives are held without problems. I also kind of like the display this gives you.
That's a great looking Opinel collection. Any chance for more pics of it. Or maybe even a special thread. I think they deserve it
Here are a few other photos of the Opinels:
You've got a nice collection yourself! A box full of custom emersons? I wouldnt mind having it.
Thank you, I love the Opinel design, I wish we had some of the more elegant options you showed available here locally. That first one is just
Lots of good storage ideas here. I am currently in the midst of a 14 week training assignment 2000 miles from home. Before I left, I picked up 6 big boxes of kitty litter and boxed up most of my collection in a clean, empty box and my collection is sitting around with a bunch of clumping cat litter in a closet waiting for me to get home.
Mine stay in a large glass bowl on my side table. Nothing fancy here.
