A Clinere Ear Cleaner. My ears always get itchy. I clean it after use with extremely hot water.

A spoon with which one must be equipped if one is to eat other people's food and generally make a nuisance of ones self in a military establishment.

As had been explained it comes from the SAS and has a long history.

I do not give much thought about being placed in handcuffs by police. Sure, I could find myself in the wrong place at the wrong time, but I am not a police target. It is very unlikely to happen and I seriously doubt I would resist if it did.

However, private security and contractors is a different story and their numbers grow every day. I have been held by what was essentially a corporate SWAT team because their driver thought I was following her. Every rent-a-cop, bouncer, and wannabe merc carries handcuffs and they are using them more often. Many arrests in NY during the occupy movement was done by private security.

Add to the fact that home invasions are up in my area, I figure its an easy enough item to have around. Its small, light and can be tucked away anywhere.

What if the "common man" has handcuffs? It's not a stretch to think someone other than a duly sworn LEO might see the need for such an item. Cheap insurance I say.;)

Oh, and I carry zip-ties. Because what if?

For me... Not exactly EDC item, but something that I carry on and off...

In the middle is "Albanska spomenica" memorial medal or badge of honor issued by King Petar in 1915 for "Loyalty to Fatherland" to his WWI comrades fighting their way back to Serbia...

In WWI were great exodus of Serbs and Serbian Army from Serbia, trough Montenegro, Albania to Greece and island of Corfu from where army fought they way back via Thessaloniki to Serbia. All who went with King trough so called "Albanian Golgotha" got this. So it isn't so rare, but...

It was issued to my grate grand father for his service in "great war" to the King and Fatherland...

So it is my "special item" that I carry occasionally (I don't want to loose it)...

    I know what that is!!!

Never really learned to use one, but I tried. I remember the engeneering students carrying long ones in leather belt sheaths. Odd combo look of cool/nerdy.

I carry a fresnel lens in my wallet as a few have mentioned.

    My two "unique" EDC Items.

    1) Silver dollar - a lucky coin.

    2) Omega Locking Carabiner... New, came in mail today, to replace my old one. I might actually like the Oval style more than my previous D-style.

Both of these items have some strange, necessary yet sentimental spot in my EDC rotation.

I keep a folded 20$ bill in my wallet. I laminated it so I won't spend it on anything dumb.

A sling and a round rock or three. Especially fishing.

    Slinging is fun
I don't crush my rotator cuff with a sling
Scares things (safely) away that I don't want near my fishing spot
When I hit what I sling at, I feel like I won the lottery
A stone hitting a tree, log, or stump makes a satisfying "thwack!"

I can only imagine the :censored: storm that would erupt if a toy cop in this country attempted to hand cuff anyone.

I've been "restrained" by a private security jeb end at a local resort. He ended his shift at the hospital. I ended my day at the police station. Charges were filed. He no longer works for the security firm and my criminal record is as clear today as the day I was born
