    2 1/8" barrel.

Like you, I miss my 4" Model 66, my next purchase may be the 686 SSR as a replacement.

A lifelong friend of mine just acquired one. Nice package. I especially like the actual rear sight.

I don't care for the large rubber grips. They tend to snag on the lining of my suit, but they are a big help in reducing the felt recoil with .357 and +P loads. I prefer the Crag Spegel wooden Boot Grip. J-Frames are intended to be carried FAR more than discharged so the smooth wooden grips snag a lot less if at all.

My friend is begging me to do a custom tune on this model after actually evaluating my 20-year old Model 640 and discovering how much better I was able to improve the action. S&W actually has done a very good job in tuning the action on this iteration but there is still more that can be done. I just don't have that kind of time anymore.

The grips I have a set of Hogue grips that I'll be swapping onto it.

The night sights and the lack of an internal safety lock were the two biggest selling points for me, can't wait to go shoot it.

I pickup my g19 on 11.29.16. 1k of 124g ball and express sights inbound. I'd call that a good start.

My needs are very practical. I've been looking for a Kel-Tec PF9 for IWB concealed carry for my office wardrobe. Nobody near me has any in stock, let alone on sale. Same story for the Taurus PT709 slim I'm trying to purchase for my wife. I'll track them down sooner or later.

@GaryGross I too am looking for another PF9. I had one and I have been kicking myself for selling it. It was the perfect CCW for work. I had it with the belt clip and could carry it all day no issues.

Just bought a new Ruger LC9s for when I can't hide my .357 LOL. Got it as my Christmas present from my wife. She knew I've been looking at a compact 9mm and told to go buy what I wanted.... so I did.

Picked up my 640 Pro last Thursday morning and was putting it in my gun safe prior to leaving for work. As I placed it on the shelf I realized one of the tritium vials on the rear sight didn't appear to be emitting any light. Turned out all the lights and sure enough, the front sight and the left rear vial are fine, the right rear is dead. Got online and registered the gun and submitted a repair request to Smith & Wesson. Received an e-mail back shortly thereafter saying ship us the gun for repair. The e-mail stated there is an approximate 8 week turn around on all repairs and they will closed from Dec. 23rd until Jan. 2nd.

I wasn't willing to wait over two months for a simple 5 minute process of swapping out the rear sight. I called the Customer service line this past Monday and the will be shipping me a new rear sight. I must have looked over that revolver at least three or four times before picking it up but I never took the time to check the sights in an area of subdued lighting. Should get the sight in the mail in a couple days.
