You have all those? If so I am jealous because all of those are on my list. But I'm probably going for the g19 because its the biggest bang for the buck, pun intended.
Oh and I forgot about the poll. I voted m&p because of the shield. It's a very nice size for concealed carry. But the g19 is a natural pointer for me. Little more expensive then the shield though
I carry a Glock 19 all day every day and its perfect for me, although if my Sig 229 wasn't so much heavier I would carry that much much more.
Love my Kahr CW9. Thin, light, and very comfortable. Mags are expensive though. But I was able to get my gun, 3 mags, and a crossbread supertuck for $350. The gun looked unfired too.
I have a PM9 that I love and is small enough for pocket carry but that I usually carry IWB, so I have been thinking about something a bit larger with a few more round capacity. I also have a full sized M&P that I love. If the Shield came without a safety I would already have one (lefty here). I recently heard that S&W will be offering a Shield without a safety in the near future. I'll probably end up with that, a Walther PPS or a Kahr P9
I have EDC'd at different times... the G17, kel tec P-11, G19 & M&P Shield.
My favorite for concealed carry is the shield, for me its the most comfortable for carrying all day, everyday.
I got rid of the P-11, it was comfortable but seemed "cheap" to me.
like others have said, there's always a compromise...no one gun can do everything well. So I voted "other"
I really like the Sig P290RS.
Mine has been reliable after the first few mags and is amazingly accurate and easy shooting for something so compact.
Couple that with the factory Night Sights and easy mag. access and it is a winner to me in that size range.
Moving up a little,I love my G26 for sure but recently picked up an M&P9C and again it is a dead on shooter for me and has very minimal recoil too.
I do wish I could find ANY mags for the M&P but this has to change someday?
Then I love my HK USP9C and G17 and M9 and.....well you get the idea, there are so many great choices and most are pretty reliable and accurate.
At least the ones that I hang onto are!
You really just need to shoot some and figure out what works for you, they are more alike than different.
Kahr CM9 my favorite that I have carried.

BTW, I have the FM Detective top also. I've had trouble with it feeding FMJ and fitting on different frames. Did you have it fitted?
I EDC either a Glock 26 or Kahr CM9.
Shoot and try out what you can, if you can, before making your purchase. I didn't and picked up a Glock 19. No matter my grip or stance, I didn't shoot her all too well. Traded it off for a Glock 26 and didn't look back. For me, I have small to medium sized hands and find that I shoot the subcompacts with greater accuracy than their compact or full size counterparts.
Go shoot a bunch of different guns and see what kind of trigger you like -- DOA, SAO.
Then figure out the size and weight that carries best for your body type and typical clothing outfit.
It's all trial and error while you hone in on what works beat for you. Anything can and should work, but some will just be better suited for you than others. Its not universal IMHO.
I like trigger pull to be the same for every shot, for my every day carry that means DAO or something similar, though if I were intentionally going into danger I would still prefer a 1911 - I carried a Kimber Custom Carry for years.
Blocks are great machines, probably on of the best made and most dependable handguns, but I have just never liked the way they feel.
My main EDC gun is a Sig P250 Compact in 9mm. I keep considering switching to .45 but have not done it yet.

Right now, I'd say my Springfield XDs. It's a very comfortable carry.
My Favorite 9mm is undisputedly the Glock 26. This is my EDC.
You really need to add Glock G26/27 to this list and also Kimber Ultra, the other column would be probably be less.
I understand all the love for the M&P shield I don't own one but have shot one enough to see why its so popular. My suggestion would be to handle as many guns as possible and buy the one that feels the best. There are a lot of nice reliable guns to choose from so you should pick the one your going to learn to be proficient with. If I was to go out and buy a new 9mm today it would be a Springfield EMP I own one in 40S&W. If I was forced to sell all my guns but one it would be the one I'd keep.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Just FYI this is an old thread and the original poster of the poll hasn't had any forum activity since May of 2012 so one could surmise that he no longer needs our advice on this matter. Not that it's a bad topic for general conversation, but probably no point in trying to give specific advice to the OP.
