I stole this from Bladeforums, I dont think I have seen this over here and thought it would be interesting to see what people say. Include your occupation, knifes, and if you want what the general purpose is.

Consider this the "Whats your EDC" thread with a twist.

I am a student and I carry a Zt0301, Benchmade 650 spike, Boker Subclaw, and either a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or a Benchmade Griptillian.

I'm a retired computer programmer and published author.

I carry a Swisschamp Plus, Leatherman Surge, and SOG Flash II.

When I was working 40/7 (before 2/2003) I carried a SAK of one kind or another, mostly for cutting open boxes.

Unix SaaS Operations Architect. Keyshawn Leeks in a variety of limited editions in rotation as man jewelry/toys/weaponry. SAK or small Leatherman for utility. 2" neck knife for all these reasons, usually worn concealed.

Hard to get a CCW here, so there's no way to say whether or not I carry a S&W model 60. Probably not, huh? ;)

    I'm an IT manager.

Work carry is always a Victorinox Swisstool Spirit X, a Victorinox Cybertool and whichever "UK Legal" EDC knife that I happen to be carrying (today its a Mykul Morris friction folder).

("UK Legal" = sub 3" blade, slip-joint or friction folding knife only - "blade must be readily foldable at all times without needing to operate a lock or other device")

I am a Senior Wireless Network Specialist.

Because I have to dress business casual every day, I alternate between my Spyderco Sage 1 and Spyderco Chaparral on my person. I really don't use it routinely at work, but I like a knife in the pocket like a watch on the wrist, I don't leave home without it. For anything heavy duty, in my work bag I carry a Cold Steel AK47, or a Spyderco Para 2, or a Spyderco Manix 2 XL, or a ZT0350, or a Spyderco Gayle Bradley.

I'm a freelance science journalist, and as such, I usually neither need nor carry a dedicated knife for work. I always carry my Leatherman Style CS in my pocket, and when i go on a reportage trip, I bring my Swiss Tool in my camera or laptop bag.

    I'm a programmer/systems analyst - I carry a Spyderco Dragonfly 2. My office isn't knife-friendly so the small size doesn't raise many alarms.

I carry the same EDC for work as I do for everything else. I upgraded from a Kershaw Chive to Leek as my primary folder. I also have the blades on my Leatherman Wave. The only addition I made for work was a folding utility razor knife which I used to cut carpet. I worked as a locksmith and had to install safes on a regular basis which required cutting through carpet to get to the actual flooring in order to drill mounting holes. Currently unemployed, but my EDC is largely the same.

You know the guy who puts the paper labels on cans of Del Monte tomatoes? Well, that's me. I carry a palette knife. I use it to apply glue to the backs of the labels. It's the only knife my employer allows me to have since I got out of therapy.

I am a janitor at a plastic cutlery factory. I always carry the same things whether I am working or not. The Sheffield folding utility knife gets the most use at work. Cardboard and plastic strapping are hard on knife edges, it is easier to change the blade in the utility knife than it is to have to sharpen my Buck 110.
