What's the smallest G-shock that's not a baby-G?

I'm looking at getting a g-shock as a beater watch but i've always found most g-shocks to be very large watches. I've found watches with around a 40-42mm case diamter fit me best. Are there any g-shocks that are around that size? There are quite a few g-shocks out there that are huge.

I dont know the smallest for sure, but I would guess the 5600 series. They are small...for G-Shocks anyway.

That's what I would say. The 5600s are 'normal' sized watches, much smaller than most of the rest of the Gs.

The 5600s are also one of the more legible G-Shocks, since they have no unnecessary measuring bars, flashing leds, or silly lcd subdials. They come in the garden-variety battery variants, available pretty much everywhere; and solar-powered atomic versions that you'll have to get from eBay or overseas.

I got mine at JC Penney. My JCP sells at MSRP, but they often have %25 off watch sales, which brings the prices into reality.

Well I went with the 5600 from Wal-Mart. Very pleased with it. Awesome $40 watch and i'm very happy with the size.

At $40 I assume it was the DW (as opposed to the GW which has atomic solar and wave ceptor)?

Yep, it was the DW. Great watch, the solar would've been nice but I didn't really want to spend the extra cash.
