What's the deal with Jewels

    I was taking to my watch repair man and he was telling me that my Vostok had more jewels then a rolex. So what is a jewel and why is it good to have more.

    The short answer is that functional jewels are used to lower friction....nonfunctional ones are added as marketing hype.

    Great articles about watch jewels!! The 100 jewel watch was outright goofy.
