Just north if you. 2 whole degrees right now as we speak.

I've got a pair of Justin roper work boots on. No complaints so far on the cold.

[IMG] yesterday i was wearing these.and no their not 5.11s thought id go mad and give the bates a wear ! I like them asthey arent the sidezip ones. Now these took about 2 weeks to break in specifically the top of the boots hence i still dont lace them up to the top other than that they are now a very comfy boot and are pretty waterproof and theyve been worn in the snow.

[IMG] wore these today.just corrected the spelling mong that i am. Only gripe us the laces are not that goid so theyve been changed other than that their a goid boot and as with all the 5.11 boots iv got no wear in period. All iv ever done with all my boots is thin socks(brought from m&s) and a medium hiking sock over the top and iv never suffered blisters/hotspots etc and i do this even in the summer!

Got these bad boys today and I wore them most of the day, very comfortable but heavy as anything. All in all I really like them and it seems like they'll last me a good while. Downside is, I gotta put them away in a few days as they are my wife's Christmas present to me.[IMG]

Those look very solid. I bet they take a long time to break in. Do you use neatsfoot oil or mink oil to soften the boot and speed up the break in process? Conditioning with neatsfoot/mink oil also has the additional effect of waterproofing the boot.

I use mink oil on my boots, I've never tried neatsfoot. As far as breaking them in, I don't forsee it taking very long, since this is my first pair of logger style boot it did take me a while to walk normally :)! Oh, incase anyone is interested the are Carolina model 5823.

Keen Targhee II. Loving them. Very light, and waterproof. Ideal for Oregon.

Mostly chilblains on my feet this time of the year. All kidding aside, office approved leather dress shoes that are way too thin, or more sporty kicks for when I'm home.

I wear Red Wing Steel Toe Romeo Boots to the office. They look good enough with a suit, but are heavy and sturdy, and have much better tread than you'll find on most office shoes. They're comfortable, and it's possible to run in them too.

I've been wearing them every day during this below-freezing weather, including some 3-5 mile walks. The socks I've been using are terrible for this weather (below ankle, thin socks), and all I've had to contend with is mildly cold toes after extended periods. Appropriate socks would turn these into great winter boots. They have Keen's version of a gore-tex liner, so walking in snow is a non issue.

Ariat Ramblers. Awesome boots. I've even worn them at the hospital on several occasions. That's a true test - 12+ hours in an Emergency Dept.
