So, first of all, let me define what I mean by tool. I'm not talking about tool as in LM Wave or Vic Classic, I mean a single implement. For example scissors, knife blade, screwdriver, etc. For me, it probably has to be the scissors (on my Vic Classic). I trim my nails, cut open packages, cut stray strings off of clothes, etc. And I can use them in more situations that my less people friendly knife wouldn't allow. What about all of you?
The knife blade on my Toucan for opening and breaking down boxes. My dinner fork is a close second ;D
+1 Toucan It's a knife. It's scissors, it's unobtrusive. And it's small enough to live on a key chain.
My Zebralight H501. Yes, a flashlight is a tool. Most of the time I am too lazy or cheap to turn on the house lights, so I use my H501 for everything from cooking to reading to working. I have been using the computer for over an hour now and have been using the H501 to light up the area where the computer is to avoid eye fatigue.
Now that I think about it, many of my tools get a decent amount of use. But if I had to pick just one (not including flashlight), I'd say my knife blade. This would be followed by the pliers on my Sebertool M4, and tweezers on my SAK.
1. Knife (Leatherman Skeletool CX) 2. Pen (Fischer X-Mark) 2. Screwdriver (same Leatherman) I'm glad that I went with the skeletool because I definitely need the blade and the bit driver, but I don't really use anything else. If I do need other tools, I'm usually around my Jeep which is full of them.
wish I could say my knife....been dying to use it more but most cutting applications are more suited for my style CS (scissors) use it everyday just about everything from cutting clothing tags, to making filters for smoking. seriously every stoner should have a style cs. The scissors and screwdriver (to pack) are soooo useful XD in terms of general EDC gear that I use, its my G-shock GA100 by farrr. check the time like every 20 minutes
#1 flashlight! currently Photon Freedom on the keychain, 4Sevens Revo (key pocket), and Nitecore D10 (holster) #2 pen, usually Zebra F301 compact #3 LM Micra scissors! I have 3 Micras and I just can't get enough
flashlight: about even between IlluminaTi AAA and SF E1B then small multitool: LM Squrit P4 last, knife: Vic Bantam
the scissors on the leatherman micra are used most often, but the whole thing is so useful, wish id gotten one sooner, its just always there on my keychain.
isnt it interesting how almost every multitool is needlenose head, and then the one that gets used most is the odd scissor head one? carried a gerber clutch for years and then changed to leatherman style CS. used it more in a week than i did the clutch in a year.
In order of use: flashlight - I have moved to a house in the country and I haven't learned where all the light switches are, yet scissors - even the tiny ones on my Vic Midnite Manager are very useful A. G. Russell folding nail clippers - better than scissors for cutting many things like zip-ties and, of course, nails
My Emerson Mini CQC Tanto. I've pryed, cut, poked, twisted, dropped and resharpened enough I've lost count. It's seen better days but it's tuff as hell and I couldn't ask for a better knife that will take abuse daily. On my side everyday for 4 years, never sent back for anything. I'd say I got my $$ worth.
Same as the OP for me - Classic scissors. I use them several times a day on average. They are closely followed by whichever light I have in my pocket - Preon II or Zebralight SC30 usually.
