I have a bunch of old AA and D cell Maglites sitting around doing nothing since I've upgraded to LED based lights. I did convert a couple of them to LED years ago but newer lights are smaller and brighter. I'd hate to throw them away but at this point they're just taking up space in my toolbox. Any ideas?
Malkoff makes some better drop in kits. The Nite-Ize ones are ok, but not really more than just a average to sub-par task light when compared to more modern lights.
Terralux upgrade in a big d cell makes it like a sun. Handy for when out walking the dogs in nefarious areas. But I didn't tell you that...
I have upgraded all my AA and AAA maglites with terralux LEDs and bottom click buttons something that I do not recommend as it is barely cost effective nowadays.I did it because all of them are keepsakes from various positions I held. If you do decide to upgrade put the button too it makes a ton of difference in handling.
Ever watch walking dead? You could build your own suppressor, provided you take the necessary legal steps of course.
Keep a flashlight in your car. trust me, it helps. Mom has my mini-mag with LED insert in her car. She stole it as it's easy to find due to it's blue color. For me, I had a Leatherman Lenser (p3 something) with a paracord fob for easy retrieval.
there are lots of things that are legal that will still get you on a list somewhere. What am I worried about anyway? I'm probably already on most of those lists lol
i have similar dilemma with my 2D it was given to me by my aunt in '99 but i cant for the life of me justify using it anymore even with the niteize LED my mag just lives under my kitchen sink next to cleaners and aerosols. also i kind of wish there were lithium D cells so i could keep it in my truck as a tire thump/ flashlight
