In a while I'll make a trip to Atlanta...and I just discovered the nice "Free shipping to store" offer on walmart.com ...I've already started filling my virtual shopping cart.... ...any suggestion on what else besides a truckload of Leatherman and SOG tools I should put in there? A flashlight would be nice....
Perhaps a compact collapsible LED lantern from Coleman. Other than that, Wal-Mart's selection of lights turned to $#!% over a year ago.
They have knock-off Camelbak's there in their hunting/camping section, so if you want a little hydration pack that might work. I'll second the vote for Kershaw knives, Walmart stocks the Skyline and the Leek, as well as a few other models. They also have some Victorinox Swiss Army Knives, at least the Classic and the Tinker (at least in my local Walmart).
FIFY. As a general rule I avoid that place as much as possible. I actually spend more online than I do at X-Mart. This isn't the time or place for me to get into my reasons. Except to say they invaded my home town.
I bought a Wenzel Starlite tent from them online for $20 and it has been a killer deal. If you only hike occasionally and like to pack light it's great IMO. You can't get them in store (at least ones around here.)
If you're in need of a great hiking backpack they have the Outdoors Products Skyline 8.0 for about $30. I own one and would like to buy another! Here's a link to some reviews and praise: http://www.bplite.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2498 Jeffrey
Do you mean this one? Looks good! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Outdoor-Products-593U-8.0-Skyliner-Frame-Pack/13285137#ShortReviewTitleBar I also like the tent and the lantern....that's gonna be a lot to carry....
Well, I see it as a form of sightseeing. I've seen so many Wal-Marts in American TV shows and films that for me it is a part of American culture (and a cheap place to shop )......so I have to see it....
i wish we had your range of products over here in the uk. asda is part of walmart, but no guns for sale amongst the milk yet
