    I've EDC'd a Super Tinker for years and years.

    Where do you get an Alox Farmer with orange scales?

    I have a new Compact and Onyx Explorer Plus, thanks to a /very/ nice - and excellently priced - dealer at the Hickory Gun and Knife Show; I even met a fellow EDCF'er from here, not that I'm good with remembering names. ._.

    Anyway, both will see carry this week. ^^

    Ah, yes it was you. :)

    I'm still somewhat regretting at least not holding one of his Farmers or his SwissTool X in person, just to get a true feeling for its size.

    An absolutely stunning Yeoman. @_@

    Looking at my Explorer Plus, though, I think I like this as much as I would the Yeoman. Now if only the small blade was replaced by one of the nail files/cleaners from the 84mm range. ._.

    My EDC is a black alox Cadet - tiny and fits my pocket perfectly, and has handled every task I have thrown at it perfectly.
    Sometimes paired up with a rambler for T&T and scissors.

    I also carry a OH GAK when camping, have a classic on my work keyring and have a few other variations about for other jobs - Huntsman, Soldier and OH Sentinel that all get used.

    For the last two weeks, I've been carrying my new Victorinox Compact, and I love it.

    What I like about it:

    1) decent sized quality scissors.

    2) As I found out with the Bantam, the combo bottle/can opener is well-designed. The only thing I miss is the smaller screwdriver on the dedicated can opener, which handles Phillips-head screws better than angling the corner of the combo tool into the slot.

    3) While I have never used the hook on any Vic SAK, on the Compact, it has a nail file on the back edge, so it's moderately useful. If I ever have to make a MacGuyver-style escape from a foreign prison window via zip line, then it's comforting to know the hook can hold up to 200 lbs...

    4) The mini pen is way too small for me to comfortably use on it's own, but I learned a neat trick online...open the hook, and slip the pen into the slot. Then close the hook onto the pen. The tension on the hook keeps the pen in place, and the pen is now a lot easier to use.

    5) Because of the combo tool, the Compact is only about the size of the Spartan/Tinker, so it rides well in your pocket.

    Since knackering my Compact by prying at something - yes, I know, and I feel stupid enough already thank you :rolleyes: - I've been EDCing this 10-year old Huntsman, with yew scales by Variant13 over on BB;

    I EDC a SAK as I use it a lot in front of people at work and the classic red-scaled penknife is as inoffensive as you can get. People love this knife now though - even little old ladies ask me where they can get one. It's not for them you understand, but their husbands would like one. ;)

    Gratuitous second pic;
