Quite frankly, I don't give a rats @$$ what you think.
Various genres and styles
Motorhead; Depeche Mode; Kathy Garby and other Greek artists; Vivaldi-Four seasons; Ace of Base; soundtracks from different movies (Star Wars, Alien I, Predator I); Los Calchakis (amerindian flute music); Twiztid; UB40; Sylver; Juno Reactor; Crop Circles; Rammstein; Eminem; Kenji Yamamoto-soundtracks from Metroid Zero Mission; La Bouche; Jamiroquai and many other bands and artists.
All on my microsd about 28 gigs, from john coltrane to pete tong, all kinds of music, gaelic to avrican, you name it ive probably got some it
... or Norwegians (anymore) . At least, we've got Spotify!
The Beatles. I have just about their entire catalog on my phone. Also have a lot of punk, like Dead Kennedy's, Bad Brains, Operation Ivy, Flogging Molly, Rancid, Against Me. Also been getting back into early 80's honky tonkin' country. I listen to just about everything, but I try to buy only non-RIAA indie music (except for the Beatles which was a Christmas present back in '10).
Maiden, Priest, Rush, Genesis, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, and too many more to mention. About 3600 tunes on my iPod Classic 160gb.
Today's edc . . . Jamiroquai, War, Black Uhuru, Hendrix . . . a laid back Monday afternoon
An edc bonus for those that can't remember the 60's . . .
I see your (awesome) Cream and raise you a Donovan.
Donavan - his hits were distractions but his albums were strong - have lots of his vinyl. Certainly worthy consideration for a raise at a no limits table.
See your Donovan and raise you a Doors
This was completely unnecessary and certainly could have been phrased in a much better way.
All: Spotify, Pandora, iheartradio & itunes library. Im set.
The Doors. One of the most talented rock bands that ever were. And if you ever listen to Ray Manzarek, what a story teller! He was on Coast to Coast AM a few years ago when I was working midnight shift and he was telling this story, Morrison had some friends who wanted to go out in the desert, shooting. Ray is mimicking Jim's put-on southern drawl, "I'm goin' out in the desert and shoot me some guuuunsss..." And Ray is saying, "You don't give Jim a gun, what's wrong with you?"
This is from the other side of The Doors (recorded in 1966) - thought Lennon & MacCartney, in particular, were paying attention; used the concept a year later in lonely hearts club, but (in my view) never did match it.
This should have the part I am talking about on it.
So much diverse and good music out there.
My addition to the discussion would include Pretty Lights (free albums on his website, please donate), Tinariwen (blues from Mali, Africa), Slightly Stoopid, Fred Eaglesmith, Florida Georgia Line, and Derek Webb.
Lately it's been:
One Man Army
