Put the leatherman in my Edc bag, and have been toting around my dime. Has yet to fail me! Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
In my opinion as a TTi owner, I would nevertheless, say no. The only reason I have a Charge was a price I couldn't refuse. In fact, I was shopping for a Wave when this one came up. Functionally, though, they are pretty much the same. The PE blade on the Charge is made of a premium steel, but if that at all matters, you'd probably be carrying a dedicated knife, anyway. There are slight handling differences between the two, but not enough to tip it for me, and they both take the same accessories. The money saved could probably be put to good use elsewhere.
That's what I was looking for good honest feedback! I appreciate the honesty! I will keep the wave and move on! Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
Same here. When I first decided to treat myself to a higher quality MT for work, (I had been using cheap no name brands up to that point,) I opted for the Charge AL simply for the higher quality blade steel. I tend to be pretty hard on my tools and toys when I'm on the job so I could justify the expense. At least, that's what I told my wife.
I agree with znap. If you can get a really good deal on one and are itching to try one I say go for it. But I don't think the functional differences are worth the price difference.
I honestly love the Wave and have never ran into something it cant handle so I think I will keep it. As a firearm instructor I am constantly using the Wave to disassemble firearms because students have loaded them wrong and put the wrong ammo in them. Now I find myself wearing it everywhere I go and love it. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
At least half of the students in every class have zero experience with firearms. During the hands on practice with the firearms (firing pins removed) and ammo (dummy ammo) the student practice what they have learned. From time to time someone will forget to check the data stamp and head stamp and load the wrong ammo into a gun. An example would be loading .32 win spl into a firearms chambered for 30-30 win. The two rounds side by side are almost the same to most people. Another issue is loading a lever action with the action open, it can cause thing to get stuck and jam.
