Leatherman Wingman, rides in my pocket every day. I wish the knife was better quality, but it gets anything done that I need a knife to do

I recently gave up a Squirt PS4 for a Leatherman Wingman and haven't looked back. I'll be picking up a used Wave this weekend and I'm going to try my hand at customizing the Wingman. Looking to add the plain edge blade, full size file, bit driver and micro bit driver.

Normally the beer has a ring to lift the cap. But my girlfriend teared it off, so the LM is held by the attachment of the ring. :giggle:

As my budget isn't all that grand, it's a cheapo Gerber extendable.

previously carried a Skeletool CX, and while the footprint was convenient, I found the overall usability of it awkward for my hands, not to mention the pocket clip made me nervous... it often came unclipped without notice. I now carry a LM Charge ALX T6 black oxide in a custom leather belt holster and absolutely love it. The dimensions are perfect for my hands.

I want to get a LM surge with the bit kit. I am seeing a small rachet that ppl are edc'ing. Is it compatible with the LM bit set and extender. If not is there one out there?

Keeps changing, really. My definition of EDC is flexible. What's on me depends on what I'm up to on a given day. Last few days I have been tending to a number of chores around house and grounds, for which I am right now carrying a Super Tool 300, an OH Trekker and a Micra attached to a Thrunite aaa flashlight. Those will get changed out, though, when I'm about some other activities.

Mine is the 1/4 in. Chapman ratchet that works with not only regular hex bits but the Leatherman flattened ones, too. This ratchet can be carried in a Surge nylon sheath side pocket, but also fits easily into the nylon pouch for the bit cards, where I prefer to stow it. It works great, more leverage than driving the same bit with the Leatherman bit holder and gets more use than I would have thought. Big :) .
