CRK Small Sebenza Insingo. Been trying to trade my Small Double Lug for a while, and this one came up for too good a price.

    Hi guys,

Just ordered my very first knife, a Smith & Wesson CH0014. Anybody know much about this knife, or if S&W ones are any good?

Smith and Wesson has made a few decent knives in the past. With that said, I have not owned the model you have listed, but a quick look shows that it is using 400 series steel (o.k. for abuse, but requires regular sharpening). I would use it and abuse it to get used to carrying something like this with you daily. In the next month you can spend time reading through the forums here and get a feel for what may be the common carry knives which seem to have a good following. After that I would set aside the cash to upgrade your current knife (Don't get rid of that one though, you always keep your first knife). As time goes on you will grow your collection and will likely spend more (and more) money.

I would suggest you check out these knife brands for inexpensive ($25-$50), but good quality knives (that look similar to or are in the same genre as the one you already own).

My friend convinced me to order an Emerson. I was looking into the CQC-7v but figured if I'm going to dive into something new I might as well just go all the way with the CQC-7bw. It's going head to head with my beloved zt566 for pocket time so we 'll see.

    Thanks for an excellent reply.

This is going to be used as a workhorse, mainly for work, the UK doesn't have an excellent law for EDC knives, so the next one's will have to be UK legal, which I've found a thread on.

    Many thanks though!

If you are looking for a workhorse and don't mind a fixed blade, check out the Morakniv line. They are inexpensive (starting at $12 US up to $40 US) and you will find no better workhorse knife at any price range IMHO. You can pay more for a prettier knife, but at the end of the day a Mora is the kind of knife you will grab when you have to work and won't think twice about. The Forum Store carries Morakniv's you should check it out (link below). My oldest Mora is one that was my grandfather's back in the 70s and I still use it regularly. The only complaint that I and others have about Moras are the sheaths, however you can purchase leather sheaths for them online (Amazon) for around $12 US.

Very nice knife. Centered, solid lockup, and shaving sharp. Gotta love it
