Not a knife but is an edged tool I have a vintage true temper flint edge boys axe head. That should be here today .
The knife arrived today. It is very good looking; very nice fit and finish -- I'd definitely say better than most of the Case knives I've bought in the last few years. Part of that may be as I alluded to before -- more attention paid to the Tony Bose collaborations. But I think also part is that the smooth bone covers partnered with the nickel silver bolsters just is a more upscale look. I will say the fit and finish is on par with GEC. As far as blade sharpness. Not nearly as sharp as say most any Spyderco I receive from any source; also not as sharp out of the box as the various GEC knives I now have. That being said, this blade will cut paper, which was NOT the case with several Case knives I received in the recent past and ended up returning. So bottom line I will be keeping this Tribal Lock. Kind of sad to see as storied a name as Case just not keeping up with their competition. They do make an array of attractive knives. Wish they'd up their game in quality of product shipped... Buck 112 Ecolite. When it comes to Buck I am more of a traditional person, but the ecolite handles intrigue me. So when I saw a NOS one on Ebay, I decided to make an offer which was accepted.
Spotted a nice price (IMHO at least!) on the Spyderco D'Allara 3 at BHQ; eta is Thurs. Several things attracted me: blade shape is in the same sort of family both as the Kapara and the SpydieChef (I said family; not a twin!); this knife uses a lock I haven't tried yet -- an 'uncaged' ball bearing lock (as an example of the 'caged' ball bearing lock, look no further than the Manix 2 series); and I kinda like that this knife has been out there as a tribute to one of the first responders on 9/11, Officer D'Allara. It has been discontinued by Spyderco though. Reviews I've seen gave strong marks to how slicey this knife is... also a good attraction! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Got this beauty for $250 on eBay. Send it back for SPA treatment and verify the authenticity the next day when it arrive, and it is a genuine Ti Lock. I cannot be more happier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Arrived right on time yesterday! The blade is a slicing BEAST -- I am very very happy with this. When I was researching the knife, I saw a lot of discussion on how the ball bearing (actually a ceramic ball) lock was not the 'friendliest' lock design Spyderco has put out. I'll confirm that I have not yet gotten to where I can unlock the blade so it is free-swinging for a one-handed close. Mostly just a matter of the ball is not so easy to get hold of whilst holding the knife in the same hand. Two handed? No worries. This is not the smallest knife in the world; blade is about 3.4" long. But its not as wide as say a Manix 2 and overall the handle is quite slim. Which makes an easy carrying pocket blade. I didn't include a pic before: Item #BHQ-50822 SPECIFICATIONS Overall Length:8.07" Blade Length:3.40" Cutting Edge:3.30" Blade Thickness:0.11" Blade Material:CPM-S30V Blade Stylerop Point Blade Grind:Flat Finish:Satin Edge Typelain I give all thumbs up at this point! And kudos to BHQ for their great service! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Been really interested in those, especially since they have been discontinued. Couldn't find much on them so thank you very much for the info!
I'm currently waiting on these two to arrive. I bought it mostly for the ZT but the IV8888 is interesting. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
