Saw a 940-2 for $114 online (Midwayusa.com) so I couldn't resist. Looks like it was the last one because it's backordered now and back up to $170.

    Seriously, no more knives.

I had a mental limit of $50 for any pocket knife. I've had a Griptilian in my wish list for years but never ordered one until earlier this month. I have no interest in any knife w/o an axis lock now. I bought 5 this month but 1 (mini-grip S30V) was a b-day present for my nephew. The 940-1501 was supposed to be a user but when I got it, it was too pretty so it was relegated to collector status when I found the deal on the 940-2. I rotate between the 940-2 and Mini Grip for EDC but will grab the full sized if I know I'll need a tough knife. All S30V blades except the 940-1501 (20CV).

I also just ordered a KME sharpening kit with the stand and a couple of extra stones today. I bought a Worksharp Knife and tool sharpener earlier this month and while it's good for working knives, I'm not 100% satisfied with the results on some of my older knives. I was very tempted by the Wicked Edge kit but I didn't think it was worth 3x the price of the KME. The Edge Pro was a distant 3rd mainly because of the lack of securing the blade while sharpening.

I'll be eating ramen for the next couple of months :p

Thanks for posting. This is the first clear picture of the green handled version I've seen. Nice!

Going back to our previous conversation, this 940-2 is perfect. The action is buttery smooth and blade centering is spot on with no side to side play even with the axis lock disengaged. The only thing I can complain about is the color of the stand-offs. I'm not a fan of green :).

Just ordered the Kershaw Leek with carbon fiber scales (real carbon fiber, not cf/G-10 ply!) and stonewash CPM154 blade from BHQ. ETA Tuesday coming week?

This will make 3 Leeks that I have. Each somewhat different. The other two both have the Sandvik 14C28N steel; one is the classic steel handle frame lock; the the other has red aluminum scales, DLC coated blade, and is a liner lock.

For what I usually need a knife for the Leek is a great fit. Not that I don't also like - and own - some heavier duty blades! :)

    L'chaim!

SAK Tinker. I would have preferred if it came on a different model, but couldn’t resist the design and it will be my first Tinker. [IMG]

Very slick! Too bad the Super Tinker doesn't seem to come in the fancier scales... I have one as well as a couple of 'regular' Tinkers. The Super Tinker amongst other features includes scissors which is nice to have sometimes.
