The Case Bone-stag mini trapper (pattern number 65305) arrived today as expected. The only small issue I can see is that the wharncliffe blade seems either toothy or just in need of a stropping... but it cuts through paper without hesitation! The clip blade is not toothy; it also cuts like a dream. This mini trapper is just a tad smaller and lighter than the Case full size. I think I'm going to like this one....

And as promised, today the two Rough Riders arrived. I have four from this maker now. These two like the first two arrived with great fit and finish; and truly sharp out of the box. With pricing at about 20% ~ 40% of say a Case knife, these guys just need better marketing to win a real presence in our market! Yes, all made in China!

    L'chaim!

Here's hoping your Rough riders are ok. They seem to have had some quality issues in the past if you see the youtube video Doggorunning posted

Great find. Dimensions, details, weight, all really nice to me.
Only my wallet says no and I guess before I spend so much on a knife I'd try a CRK or the like.
Still a beautiful and practical knife :)
I think I'd like it with wood inlays...

I have my first ZT inbound, a 0450cf. It ticks a lot of boxes - 3-1/4 inch blade, under the ounces, aesthetically pleasing (to my eyes, I like the lines and blade shape). I don't have an opinion on carbon fiber, never had a knife with it.

A Spyderco Pingo. Haven't heard much that's bad about this knife. Having been very pleased to find a Spyderco I want at a price I'm willing to pay, I'm now thinking about selling a kidney to buy some titanium scales for it.

I do, but it's a bit expensive and shiny. The scales I've seen give it a nice used look.

Whoa, what is the driver pictured in the second pic? I manage an optical lab and I work with eyewear, so I use small precision screwdrivers all day. That is, dare I say, a sexy beast!

After much deliberation, youtube videos, reading reviews and um'ing and ah'ing over the price tag - I finally said ":censored: it", and purchased my first Chris Reeve knife. Came in the mail today.

    Chris Reeve Inkosi.

I have to say it's beautiful. It's smaller than I thought it would be but it's perfect for my tiny girl hands.

    No regrets :)
