I’ve been trying a Trayvax Element for a couple months. Still not sure if I like it more than my Saddleback Front Pocket ID.
Normally I don’t carry a wallet or a card holder. I just use Apple Pay and stuck my drivers license on the inside of the cover of my mobile phone, if I should be stopped by the police. If I need to bring other types of cards, I have them in my Saddleback Leather Business Card Holder.
Still looks brand new and I don't baby it. My opinion hasn't changed, it's a keeper! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Glad to hear it. I ordered one but changed my mind on getting a more colorful one when I saw someone in the review section post one that was scratched up pretty bad
I've carried just about all of them. Ridge, several Trayvax, Saddleback , MAGPUL, Maxpedition, STOW, Skinny, several different plate type card holders and Peter Atwood's TightWad. They are ALL excellent! Loved carrying each and every one except for maybe the Ridge(never got used to the way of getting cards out). All of these "wallets" do exactly what they are touted to do. I work outside in the hot Texas humidity and anything made from leather or containing leather quickly become sweaty and nasty looking. the card holders made from any sort of metal are the way to go for me. I recently purchased a Decadent Minimalist 8 card holder. I love this one. Easy in and out of any card and it pretty much disappears in the front pocket. Mine is ano'd aluminum. I may spring for a Ti version in the future.
I was considering that wallet but ultimately went withe the STOW. The extra storage on the back for insurance cards and the cash spot for a few bucks I try to keep on me were the tie breaker. Since you own both do you have any opinions on why one is better than the other?
I don't think I'll ever replace my STOW. The only thing better would be a credit card Sherpa who follows me around, LOL. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I carry a cheap leather bi-fold from WalMart that I've had for the better part of 15 years. It's really on it's last threads but I cant say Im upset. It's lasted longer than I thought it would. Looking to replace it with a Rogue Industries Nantucket front pocket wallet, probably in moose leather.
The Decadent Minimalist card carrier is simply a lightweight machined one piece wallet/card carrier. I don't carry cash keep my insurance info and other tax exempt and farm use info in my phone. I don't own the STOW anymore. Passed it on to another individual via edc forums.
No, I did not get the money clip. Rarely if ever carry cash anymore. I think the money clip would make it a little more bulky. If I do end up with cash in the pocket, I usually slip it in the pocket clip of the Serge Bean and try to use it up. I used to craay cash and cards. Back then I used a Munroe Mega Dangler as a money clip. They work great!
When you say you keep it in your phone do you mean on an app, picture, or something else? What are your thoughts on card access on the STOW vs the Decadent Minimalist? I have noticed with the STOW you can fan to much looking for a card and start popping others out.
Went back to the Saddleback. I liked the idea of the Trayvax, but the execution just isn’t better to me than the Saddleback. The money clip still requires folding bills more than just in half and the multiple card slots is just nice for finding what you want quick.
I keep photos of Insurance cards etc. on the phone. App for auto insurance verification. I wasn't a big fan of the 'fanning' of cards. It was sort of the same with the different plate wallets. The Travax Summit is easy in the means of pushing out several cards. It is steel though and does weigh a bit more than the aluminum of the DM1. With the DM1, I just pull the cards out slightly and slide until the desired one is visible. I haven't had any trouble with the gate card reader at work either. I had to always find and remove gate card in any other metal wallet.
I felt the same way about Trayvax. Good quality for sure but a pain in the to get a card and the folding money in thirds sucks too.
I very much like my Secrid Mini-Wallet. I have had two (lost the first one in a cab) and have tried other styles but keep coming back to the Secrid. It carries everything I want without being bulky.
