Liner locks can be converted by straightening the spring a little and cutting a small lead on the end of the spring where it locks onto the blade heel. The possibility of converting a locker has been on my mind for a while,,,,,,,, Back locks can easily be trimmed but take a fraction off and you will end up having to consider making it a friction lock. The stumbling block seems to be that whilst lock-springs are sufficiently strong to snick the lock shut,,,, it is in no way strong enough the keep the blade shut
