Up until this past summer, I really didn't carry a knife that often.

Then, during an exercise at Ft. Sill, I was talking with some other SOF guys and the topic of knives came up. One guy broke out his EDC pack, and dump out about 20 knives. Another LTC took out his Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Mini Covert, I was hooked. I ended up buying all three sizes of this knife, and multiples of the Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert (the middle sized version). I carry the Covert everywhere, except when I am on stateside TDYs. Then I pack the mini...you never can tell what TSA is going to confiscate, and $30 bucks for a replacement mini, would be easier to take than the $100+ buck replacement cost of the mid size version.

My EDC knife is now a Spyderco Delica 4, perhaps I should have gotten the waved version. I'll have to try the ghetto wave for the novelty of it. :idiot2:

After a year of slicing BBQ meats and sausage, it's time to stop displaying the older photo of the Queen City canoe when it was new and shiny. Hot, salty, greasy meat sure puts on a good patina though I didn't capture the blues and pinks all that great. The bolsters were scuffed so I took a Scotch Brite pad and evened it out. I was slicing tiny threads off my EDC pack the other day. It was like using a razor blade. Love this knife!

My EDC pocketknife is a Benchmade Mini Griptillian and I wouldn't ever be without it. It's perfect for edc..not too big, not too small.

I still acquire other knives from time to time and am wondering if anyone has checked out the new Buck Redpoint.

SOG Flash II. Still deciding whether or not I like it more than my spyderco tenacious.

chavez, that's SO cool :p great to see stuff well used - patina, character - it's what it was designed to do! :roof:

reminds me of one of my favorite sayings....
"a ship is safe ashore, but a shore is not what a ship is made for"
(yeah, I changed it to rhyme better)

I changed my setup a lot, I don't carry my crkt anymore, unless I'm in the field, or have a place I can really use that beast of a knife. My bag holds my leatherman wave, and my c33x, though I'm thinking of replacing the c33x with a boker or a rat something this year.

Because I have been giving it a Vinegar Patina and working on the edges my GEC Tidioute #73 Scout is in my pocket.

Patina because it had already tried to grow rust freckles.
