Just got my MPR today as well. Love the blade, however the detent seems overly strong, been having a tad of a difficult time opening it one handed thus far.

1+ I'm having the same issue, but I don't mind as it prevents it from opening into my front right pocket...Wow you already got yours, that's really good shipping.

Ya its not terrible, just something to get used to. Yea, shipping was quick, the distributor was in Louisiana and I'm in northern Florida, so it was a relatively short trip. Can't get over how sweet the knife is though.

Got mine yesterday. Two handed no problem. One hand opening is unsafe and almost impossible! What the heck?
I'm sending this one back. I've never experienced this before. Baffled...

The thumb stud requires so much push, that when the blade finally opens your thumb slips down on to the blade/into its path. I don't recall if my unboxing video showed that, but it does happen. A wrist flick is how I've been opening it some of the time.

Boy Surefire hit it on the head. (Edit) Haven't been hurt but the thumb does slip into the path of the blade. First folder ever in my experience to do this. The confounding thing is it opens smoothly and without a problem two handed. (Scratching my head in puzzlement) Also the blade is not centered. The tip is far over to the side opposite the framelock spring.

I alternate between a Spyderco Safety knife, a Leatherman Freestyle, a Benchmade 960 (I think it's a 960... might be a 980....), a Ken Onion Kershaw or two and the old standard, the Swiss Army knife with the cigar cutter blade.

At work I carry a Benchmade 760 folder and my EDC when not working is a Spyderco Manix. Always have a SAK in the other pocket and a Leatherman Micra on the keychain.
