I don’t know that it will be an edc, but it just came in and will probably adorning my pocket for a little while

I posted earlier in the thread that along with my little SAK Executive, I usually carry the 535BK2 Bugout. The Bugout may be the best single blade EDC folder made today unless your into a knife as jewelry. Weighs nothing, pretty good steel, great at slicing cuts, and fit the hand (at least mine) like it was made for me, and reasonably priced. Even the original is great in spite of the bit of flex in the scales. Benchmade made these for backpackers and hikers who don't need a beast of a knife but something light and efficient.

Got a new knife to try out, an Al Mar Ultralight Hawk. It's one of the smaller knives I've tried carrying (2.75" blade) and I'm not 100% sure it'll stay in my pocket, as it feels just a hair too small. That could just be me not being used to it.

Here's a couple pics compared to my prior EDC, a Kershaw & Al Mar collaboration, the AM-3. The handle is about 5/16" shorter on the Hawk.

I do like the weight difference. The Hawk weighs only 1.3oz and the AM-3 weighs 2.5oz. Neither are hefty by any means but the Hawk definitely lives down to it's ultralight weight title.

I do wish it had a deep carry pocket clip and I would have liked the Al Mar logo to be on both scales (both sides of the handle). This would mean the texture of the FRN wouldn't be grabbing when clipping/unclipping it from my pockets. Plus it'd be nice for lefty's that would swap the clip to the other side and keep the looks.

Thank you. I am really liking them. They have changed color a little bit with the oils from my hands and dirt.

Returned the Hawk, it was just a bit too small for my hands. I got the next size up, the Falcon.

    Hawk: 2.75" blade, 3.3" handle & 1.3oz
    Falcon: 3.15" blade, 4" handle & 1.8oz

Fits my hand way better. I would have loved to have it be as light as the smaller version but it's still pretty light. I may try and figure out a deep carry clip for it.

I already sold my AM-3 or I'd take a pic of them together.

Since 2007 my edc knife has been a SAK. It fluctuates from month to month and year to year between an Explorer Plus, a Craftsman, or a SwissChamp. Lately it’s been the Explorer Plus supplemented by a Squirt PS4 for the pliers and file.
