ZT 0562 This is my first experience with S35vn steel and so far, I'm liking it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
What knife is that? It looks a lot like the Shirogorov Neon, but I don’t see any markings and the pivot looks different.
Have you ever seen the 'ancestors' of Bugout? By which I mean the BM Pardue 530 and BM Pardue 531? I have all three knives; very similar in design and build to each other. The Bugout of course is the latest iteration - it also uses better blade steel than the earlier ones, which in mine at least are 154CM. But in overall size and weight and function, definitely peas in a pod! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I´m kind of aware they existed, but the design never really spoke to me in the same way as the Bugout. I don´t know, maybe to “tactical” or something. They are very clearly related, though.
Thanks! I had a 0560BW for a few years and loved it. I foolishly sold it last year and have been looking for a replacement since. The 0562 is a little sleeker and more "business casual". Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Well, it's a Chinogorov Neon, got it like 4 years ago and modded it one every part of it (and destroyed the great grind lines on the spine ) When the pivot kept on getting loose whatever loctite I tried I decided to change that, too. Anodizing the rainbow was fun, I should've thought about it a little more though. The clip covers the bright golden part quite effectively but that spot was just from water and removable
Quite a 'family tree' BM are growing! If the BM Pardue 530 and BM Pardue 531 are the 'ancestors', and the Bugout is the 'descendant', I'd call the Bailout the 'next generation'. L'chaim! Moshe ben David
Start of a new week: LF pocket, on Pangea Ti Pickpocket dangler: LM Squirt PS4 Coin pocket: Spyderco Ladybug LSSS3; steel handle; lock back; 1 7/8" VG-10 leaf shaped hollow grind SE: RF pocket, on a pocket dangler: Otter Mercator model 10626R; polished Copper handle; lock back; Solingen 3.5" stainless steel drop point FFG satin finish: All the pics above via BHQ. About the Otter Mercator. In addition to this copper handled one, I also have a couple of the black handled variants -- aka the 'Black Cat'. I'm attracted to these historic, traditional knives in much the same way I'm attracted to the Opinel and the Antonini 'Old Bear' knives. There's just something about these simple designs that have stood the test of time that rings true for me! L'chaim! Moshe ben David
I agree, hence my Peanut, uhhh....assortment. And many other traditionals. I also have a Black Cat K55K, which I bought in Berlin a couple years back, it’s a fine piece and you can feel the history in it.
