Keep in mind that the Kabar Dozier has two versions in terms of opening. One -- probably the one you've seen most often in ads and reviews -- has thumb studs. It also has a version with a thumb hole, which is the version I opted for. Opens like a Spydie. Guess I should have mentioned that!

“Rubberized CF” is a product sold by A & J Composites.
It looks just like regular CF, however it’s surface texture is pliable and rubber like to the touch.
The material itself is very easy to machine (drill, cut, sand). It’s a pretty flexible material, depending upon its thickness. Therefore, it would work best when applying it to knives with full liners. Its rubbery pliable nature make it quite scratch resistant too.

Personally, I think A&J’s has nailed it.
It does look a lot like regular CF and it definitely feels a lot like rubber.
    This is very cool stuff.

Starting off Mid-Term Election week (and it couldn't have come a moment too soon! ;) ):
    • LF pocket, on Pangea Ti Pickpocket dangler: LM Squirt PS4
    • Coin pocket: Spyderco Manbug; Black FRN lock back handle; VG-10 leaf shaped 1 7/8" SE grind blade.
    • Belt sheath at 9 o'clock: LM Blast. Also have a 4" Ti CountyCom 'widgy bar' and a PocketWrench II in the sheath. The PocketWrench is for anchoring the blind nut if present whilst I'd be turning the nut or screw head on the other side...
    • RF pocket in a buffalo skin slip case: Opinel 'Slim No. 8', 3.125" satin finish SS blade; Bubinga wood handle. The 'slim' Opinel is tapered almost like a 'toothpick' blade just to give you an idea... very light weight and very slicy!

I'm really liking that long, slender, stabby looking knife. Details details please! Including what is that handle?

    That’s a BM 417 Fact .
They come with either satin or black blades.
The BM’s factory model comes with black aluminum scales.
The scales pictured are made of Ironwood.
I have hidden all 6 of the body screws (3 each side) under the scale.

I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest you clearly have the talent for custom work on the knives... if it were a viable business I think you'd be quite successful ! I just don't know if it is such a thing or not...

I see they have modified the omega springs. It will be interesting how they hold up over time.

    Mid-week rotation change:
    • LF pocket, on Pangea Ti Pickpocket dangler: LM Squirt PS4
    • Coin pocket: Spyderco Ladybug Salt Hawkbill; Yellow FRN lock back handle; H1 Hawkbill 1 7/8" SE grind blade.
    • RF pocket in a cordura slip case: Rough Rider swayback jack; pattern RR KB277; amber jigged bone scales; 3" FFG so-called 'half hawk' blade (or call it a sheep's foot); 2 1/4' FFG spear point. Blades are 440 SS, mirror polished, and razor sharp -- the half hawk bit me when I opened it today -- it got away from me and snapped close before it reached the half open stop! ;) . The blade stock for the large blade is 0.11"; the spear point blade stock is 0.089".
Rough Rider do put out some excellent value knives at great price points! :)

I purchased cara cara 2 and i am really impressed. Much better than the spyderco polestar which i own. Super ergonomics , plain edge, excellent for kitchen and at my job, lightweight, i think superior to the dozier. I sharpen it with 2500 grit sanpaper and the result is amazing.gives more spaces than the meadowlark 2 and i can make several grips. Allthough expensive in europe(50euros) i think worts the money.
