I haven't handled the Loco, but I can tell you for certain you would like the Crooked River.

a beat to hell Spyderco Endura 4. Got it for next to nothing 10 yrs ago, broke the tip off, took it to Spyderco (I live 10 miles from them), they put a new blade on it. Every year I take it back to have it sharpened, I use it a lot. At present, it's got multiple spots of grease, oil, gas, diesel and god knows what on the blade.

Still rocking my Spyderco limited edition Urban in Elmax. and British racing green. It's so good it has taken a bit of the shine off edc knife collecting for me. Hard to keep searching for ideas for the optimal British edc knife, when you've already got it in your pocket. .

However, a coyote brown handled Urban in a decent steel would certainly bring my knife buying mojo back up to full power.

Hmmm handle to blade ratio seems... not ideal. Or is it the angle?

It's the angle. Not ideal is that it's not available in a 120% zoomed variant because I really like this little one.
There's the Ruike P801 but I don't like deep carry clips in general and the blue hardware in perticular.

Maybe this pic shows the handle:blade ratio better

    Yeah, this does.

Generally speaking, there is a knife for everyone of us out there. Different tastes means more variety on the market. Me, I like deep carry and blue hardware but not so much ornate handles. Tough my only deep carry is a PM2, as I sold the rest.

I like it when a clip is as far to the end of the handle as possible and if it adds as few holes as possible.
On this one they used the Kershaw Chill's clip and used one hole from the standoff and only put in one extra.
It also serves as an overtravel stop without adding any extra piece.

There's little details that surprise me on this $6-$12 knife that I'm still amazed.

Usually I don't like ornaments or pictures on handle scales but this one is stamped like a coin, not etched or lasered, it definitely looks better this way.
(And it's a small knife, not even 16 cm open legth)

So yeah, my liking to it comes a lot from playing around with knives and being interested into the mechanics and stuff.

If I'd ever make a Ti folder I guess it would have this shape, a 8.5cm blade and a front flipper ;)

By the way, deep carry clips tend to too high for my taste, the bent thin metal bites my fingers, maybe I just never handled a good example...

The idea of the Strider clip is good. One screw and a little nose to keep it from turning is all it takes. Else a recessed clip (e. g. Hinderer) is nice. But I’m not great on milled clips, too ornate and too much mechanical effort.

I have no problems with milled clips, especially if they are done well and held with a hidden screw.
I've also made CF clips but held from the outside.
These ways are just too complicated for a $6 knife and a bit too much to make on your own without a (cnc) mill so I like such simple yet effective solutions.

I especially like this. I'd even think of getting one like it for my son -- he was born in Year of the Dragon (which won him HUGE favor in the eyes of my in-laws!). No one else seems to have asked or perhaps I missed it. Which knife is this? One of the several of the Chinese makers?

    Thanks in advance.

    Starting the new week:

    > LF pocket, on dangler: LM Squirt PS4
    > belt sheath at 9 o'clock: LM Blast
    > Coin pocket: Spyderco Ladybug Salt; H1 steel; yellow FRN handle; SE grind
    > RF pocket: Kizer Sliver #Ki4419A1; flipper riding on Phosphor Bronze washers; Anodized orange (Kizer calls it T6?)scales over full yet machined out steel liners; 3.5" stone wash Wharnie S35VN PE blade. Full open flow-through construction. My only real complaint is this knife only allows one position for the clip - right hand point up. Feels great in hand. The scales have machined in grooves in what Kizer calls a 'sunburst' pattern. Whopping big lanyard hole if I was so inclined. To paraphrase Nick Shabazz, '...this one should stay firmly in hand if I were working in a vaseline factory!'

It's the Sanrenmu 7129. It's looking like this out of box

Most of today's products come from China, at least they put something on it that they invented ;)

Where did you buy it? I usually turn to Amazon for Sanrenmu etc; but they don't have this one. Gear Best? or someone else?

    Thanks!
