Looks good. What is it? Guess I'm too lazy to cruise the BM website... ;)

    Houston, we have a problem...

Was really digging this 451 but it's the second time I've had an issue with it. Cutting a 1/4" root today, heard a pop, something shot out, which I assume was the spring, and here it is. I'll send it in but ... not so sure about this 451 any more. I'm hard on my gear but it shouldn't have been a problem. The SAK went right through that root so it might be time for my BM, Spidey, or CRK for a while.

Ugh, did not expect anything like this from a ZT. Can I see more of the damage? Details and from top? I’m outright curious.

    Starting a new week:

    > LF pocket, on dangler: LM Squirt PS4
    > belt sheath at 9 o'clock: LM Blast
    > Coin pocket: Spyderco Cricket; SS flow through construction with integral frame lock; VG-10 S-curved blade, total blade length is just under 2" but cutting length is effectively longer due to the S-curve. SE grind. It has a pocket clip but riding in the coin pocket I don't bother. This thing is a wicked sharp slicer!
    > RF pocket: on a P7 dangler, Mercator K55K Otter 'Black Cat'. Solingen SS 3.5" spearpoint blade with a backlock. I actually have two of these; one I dedicate for use on food. Took that one to a steakhouse; sliced ribeye steak with a simple draw cut, no sawing. Wait staff were very impressed! Not bad at all for a knife that's been in production for about 150 years. The ones today are finished better -- powder coat epoxy on the one piece steel handle.

    L'chaim!

Might I suggest one of these Sir? I work with plants, roots and the like and there's no breaking it. Hori Hori is Japanese for dig dig. Full tang, pomel, seratted and plain edge, rope cutter/ bottle opener, and marks every inch for depth control on planting those pesky bulbs! Barebones is this brand but there are others. I hate saying it but look up Hori Hori on Amazon, you won't be sorry![IMG]

Looks like the carbon fiber cracked and the pin came out. Hard to see from this pic but if you blow it up you can see chips missing. Not a good sign. Perhaps the CF is a little too thin for this application.

Appreciate the suggestion and, if I was gardening I would have made the trip to the garage to get a trowel, leatherman, saw, etc. This root should not have been an issue for a $200 knife. As mentioned, my SAK went right through it and I pulled the rest of it out by hand.
