Not to rain on your parade, but…

The CRKT looks great. Two things keep me from buying it though. One is the “wrong” clip direction, which would be forgivable. And two is the choice of materials, especially blade steel, which is not my cup of tea.

    But again, it looks great.

i must say this was an instant favorite @ThaMac
the size, weight, and scale materials are perfect
the blade steel is not bad for the price
the overall feeling is that of an expensive knife
i was thinking of modding it but once i handled it i'm not sure anymore
    really liking this one

A coworker has this. He asked me for an opinion before purchase. I said it’s a good looking knife, but CRKT can be hit or miss with fit and finish. He did buy it. The one he got was definitely a miss, with misaligned scales and gaps.

Recent CRKT models have been really nice. I got a Pilar that’s outstanding. They’ve stepped it up for sure. But this particular model seems to be from the previous (bad) era. The coworker never carries it.

I had the stag model. I really liked the way it looked, but I couldn’t get comfortable carrying it - it simply didn’t fit my pockets at the time. And I could not keep it sharp; it may have been the grind geometry, which I’m not good at changing. Wanted to love it but when the scale cracked I fell out of love pretty quickly. Once it got back from warranty service it was gone like a fat kid playing dodgeball.

That Case Shark Tooth is nice. I've not seen it before. I'm familiar with both the Mako and the Hammer Head. How long have you had this one?

More or less for the rest of this week:

    > LF pocket, on dangler: LM Squirt PS4
    > belt sheath at 9 o'clock: LM Blast.
    > Coin pocket: Spyderco Ladybug Hawkbill, H1 steel; SE grind
    > RF pocket: Cold Steel Tuff Lite PE grind. This is a rugged little Wharncliffe; I also have its brother in a SE grind.
