This is my current EDC knife system

    Utility Knife: Stanley Stockman
    Tactical Knife: Bucklite MAX
    Keychain Knife: Victorinox Classic
Backup Knife: Blade on my Leatherman KICK

The stockman does 90% of my daily work. The sheepsfoot blade is incredibly useful. The Bucklite does the "big knife" or the one-handed chores. The Classic is mostly there just for the scissors, but the other implements also come in handy. The knife on my Leatherman KICK is almost never used, but is always there just in case.

NOTE 1: This system has lots of overlap between knives/tools. The idea is to give myself lots of redundancy in case of a lost blade.

NOTE 2: This system is largely unchanged over the last 10-15 years.

Prior to the Bucklite MAX, I carried an old Cold Steel Voyager for several years (medium clip point) as my tactical knife. The Bucklite is not as smooth as the Voyager, but it does have a much better pocket clip (the plastic Voyage clip broke pretty quickly).

I have gone through 4 or 5 Victorinox Classics, and at least as many stockman pattern knives, over the last 15 years or so. These little guys tend to get lost or damaged easily, but I replace them as needed.

The Leatherman KICK has been with me since I bought it in 2008. Though it's gotten a lot of use over the years, it still looks and feels practically new. It's an amazingly well-made tool and I'm really sad it's not still in production.

Other tools may be added into the rotation, but these 4 are the heart and soul of my EDC.

I recently lost my $30 aluminum handle Walmart special Buck knife. I really hope it turns up as it’s very thin, carries well and with its 440c blade I could abuse it without worry. Went to the local sporting goods store today (generic to protect the guilty) to find a new knife. My plan was to spend around $100 so I was looking at the usual suspects, Benchmade and Spyderco but what I liked was easily double. The guy behind the counter tells me he’s just covering and actually works in the fishing department but if I pick something out he’ll give me 15% off (not sure if it was a story or not but it worked). I look to my right and see her... I ask to fondle her and she’s perfect. I quickly check online pricing and it’s the same so I ask if he’ll do the 15% off on this one too... I hope he doesn’t get in trouble

I read some online reviews about some QC issues and this one is perfect! It’s also the sharpest factory knife I’ve ever seen by a lot! Deep carry clip is on order and I think this may very well be my EDC, it’ll be perfect as I wear slacks for work every day.

The jigging on those handles is just stunning. It's not easy to out-sexy a Sebenza, but that knife does it.

I was carrying the full size Ritter, until the mini Loco came in the mail.

Got a 0450 as well and I call it “light switch”. You know what I am talking about, right? Not sure about the QC issues, cuz mine is perfect as well.

Anyway, I have a deep carry but I flipped the knife out of my pocket when the seam of my jacket got caught by the end of the clip. Therefore I switched back to the factory clip and I got to admit, the ergos are better with it. As I am not tucking my shirts, the end is covered anyway so I am good with leaving it as is.

Else I love the fact that there is a visible grind and the blade is not polished to death. The weight, or better the “absence of weight”. The knife is an absolute pleasure to EDC. I am down to eight knives and this is one of them for reasons.
