Those 2 pics are the same knife, looks like a CRKT Squid, with a GITD scale. Hence the "night and day" shouldn't it be day and night though? :p

All I'm really qualified to do is drive.

Maybe it's only me but that remembers me of the fox and the grapes.
Maybe the grapes really aren't ripe, yet, but if I can ever find a Sebenza or any knife from that league in a real world shop then I'd love to play with it and if I can ever afford one again without to worry about pampers prices, kindergarten, school or study fees then I'd definitely get a Sebenza (or a Mnandi), just to taste its ripeness ;)

Btw, maybe they should offer a fruit and veggie plan. Daily vitamins in practical and tasty packaging with a quality knife for free (Sebenza and some others in that price range) for only $60-120/month.
Wouldn't that match with those overpriced mobile plans where it would be cheaper to buy the fruity device separately?

I don't find any of those steels on CRK's website.

Maybe you meant Sanrenmu with your line:
Agree with you. Too bad. I like some of their designs, but the subpar blade steel makes me cringe.

But I guess SV-97 meant CRK, just as I did, with his line:
Well I wouldn't have a problem with S35VN if they didn't HT it the way they do (and if they lowered the price a bit) At the price they go for I don't go crazy on the tolerances, I expect them to be given and go from there and with that said I don't see the value.

    Have a nice day :)

Not really the grapes for me. Have my 940 and 0095 and stuff. But some of the CRKT designs I would buy in S-whatever-V and titanium. But not in AUS8 with a steel handle - ugh.

Since I got interested in folders just over a year ago, I've bought quite a few, thinking that different tools for different jobs is better than the ultimate do everything knife. Off course this was also a nice excuse to sample some of the different styles and actions available.
The other day, after realizing I reach for my small Sebenza almost every time, I'm seriously considering selling off most of my "collection" to fund another small Sebenza insingo. With both the insingo and the clip point to choose from, I could do most anything with a Sebenza.
I just like them. There's really nothing special about them, and the price is just crazy, but it just works for me. Since it's a design with a significant history, I also value the fact that it's authentic.

Got this out to see how sharp it was. Not great steel.
    But it cuts ok.

I hear you and I feel about Kershaw the way you do about CRKT.
I'd spend my scarce money for some of their knives if they were available without this redundant Speedsafe crap.
Make it fully automatic or just leave the spring in the first place, I know Kershaw can do it, the Chill is a perfect flipper (with a quickly dulling blade steel).

A Chill with at least VG-10 (the Camillus I have is great in VG-10) and the CRKT Ripple with a tip-up clip and better steel, I'm sure I'd get one of each in an instant. Oh, and if I can make a wish, an Ontario RAT 2 with better steel, maybe D2 like on the RAT 1, with the old triangular RAT logo, that Ontario "O" is looking quite ugly.

Well I'd also try it for Sure and have had them in my Shopping cart pretty often but the curiosity is easily tamed by that pricetag :D
