The Delica kicked my Seb out of the pocket for the summer work abuse. Excuse the spare office shoes, rode into work and bike shoes are even worse looking. [IMG]

The (Orthopedic) Shoemaker says, do something about it! ;)

Ok, doesn't have to be this style and maybe 4k is a bit steep but it's 100% handmade (with electric belt sanders though, it's not 1900 anymore). So get new shoes already ;)

The Barlow knife blade shape, is it meant for cheese? Seem to remember seeing something like that on a cheeseboard

I know what you mean, like a cheese knife with a forked end, but no. It's actually a one arm blade, made so that you can open it with one hand by catching it on the pocket/waist/pantleg. Supposedly designed for Civil War veterans who could no longer open their much needed pocket knives after losing a hand or arm.

Have a house full of sick kiddos this weekend, so we made soup tonight. The ZT 0350 decided to help out and cut the ingredients up. Love this blade shape for food prep.

Totally agree on that shape. I don't have any ZT knives. But that knife shape has been in use in many kitchens for a very long time! I used to have a kitchen knife that I think was called a 'butcher's knife. It and a French Chef's knife were all I needed in the kitchen. It unfortunately disappeared in a house move long ago and wasn't replaced. Mostly because I was the only one who used it and I travelled too much to bother with kitchen duties. But that is a tale for another time and place...
