Very nice brass scales I think the only thing I'd change is to put the fasteners into a drill (press) and sand the heads while turning. After polishing with any compound you'll get a nice 3D like effect
Or you just leave it as it is, it has character, that's for sure

Bone collector with mini presidio scales
These two followed me to Detroit for the NAIAS. Cant wait to get home to some of my favorites. I'm really thinking about an Alox pioneer or cadet for trips like these. About 550 miles to go.

Well it is very grippi, because of the Cordwrap. At the same time extremely pointy and, at least right now, nicely sharp. Let's see, how this works out, when it is used for some time.
