Thought I would join the fun with a pic of my work-time knife and sharpeners: It's a simple Hinderer designed Kershaw. Chrome steels seem to respond well to diamond sharpeners when really dull, and I use a pair of 1000/4000 grit japanese stones to bring it up.
This is simply the sharpest knife I have ever owned, a Cabela's special order with S30v steel. I can easily shave anywhere with this one. My EDC knive.
My recent acquisition I carry behind my back on the strong side Cool knife Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Uh... I'm a knife knut, not a scissors nut.. And I was at my gfs house and she doesn't take care of her tools, the scissors in question were dull and had some shmutz in the action so it was easier to push cut with the SMF.
EDC bliss today. Been trying to figure out why I didn't love either my SAK or Zancudo, I like different parts of each, just not perfect. Then I realized, I like the bigger blade of the Zancudo, but I don't like pocket clips!! Took the clip of the Zancudo, slipped it in my pocket and it's perfect. Super slim, light , and I can put my hand in my pocket to get my wallet without scraping it up!
Easy trick with scissors - after you clean 'em up, take some aluminum foil, fold it 3 or 4 times, and cut thins strips of the foil. Helps bring an edge back. BTW sharpening scissors is not quite the same as sharpening a knife. Read up on it before you try it. Can't always teach old dogs new tricks but they still know how to bite.
A new week, a change in rotation. This week's rotation: Spyderco Cricket SS with SE complemented by a Case SS small lockback with PE in the watchpocket. Not in rotation: LM Squirt in watchpocket SAK Classic on keys Opinel 6 in the bag usual suspects in the car and in the FAK's never change either L'chaim
Ok, I can try that one with the tin foil but besides that, I'm the guy the people bring their scossirs for sharpening on job Sometimes I do that on the belt sander, sometimes with sandpaper, sometimes with my Victorinox pocket sharpening rod, sometimes with my diamond file...
