The strange thing is that on the satinized clip the golden ano at the screw and the green for the rest is still strong but the stonewashed area faded. Still I like it more than the plain Ti. It came this way: So I slightly modded it, esp. the clip was more work as it seems...
I knew that anodizing wears off with time but I'm surprised that it almost gone. I would have thought that the stonewashed surface keeps it actually longer than smoother surfaces. At least the ano is easy to re-do if you miss it!
Yeah, I kinda like it this way. The best protection for anodizing is when it's in recessed (milled) areas, like on the motto Sebenzas. It's fading from the oil on our hands and other dirt, but usually cleaning it with soap or alcohol should be enough to revive it. Anyways, I've spent so many hours that it's my pretty child, even if some people might say it's ugly
I think it looks great. And things that you modify somehow have a more personal touch and you might like them although other people can't always see what's so special about it.
Exactly! And it's a nice plus that it cut's through 3 mm (~1/10") rawhide like an Olfa cutter. I guess I'd like a Delica or a Dragonfly...
Maybe that's because you've spent more for your knife and because you sharpen it more often. Next purchase for should be some high-end scissors Made in Japan. Easy to spend the same as for the knife and they can be same sharp and nice to see, too
