If I lived in a state that allowed concealed carry, it would be a Sig P220 compact. Scott, in Wisconsin
You guys were a gnats hair from CCW. I'd bet you can get it but it's gonna take the CCW forum and internet crowd to work the citizens and the elected officials to regain the momentum.
Rossi 3" .38 Special loaded with +p hollowpoints, in-the-waistband nylon holster (which i hate, because it takes two hands to re-holster)
I usually edc a Glock 36 IWB, I will sometimes switch that with a Kimber Ultra carry, but when I am wearing warm weather clothes I switch to a Kel-Tec P32.
My summertime carry is a Ruger LCP w/ Crimson Trace. In the winter I carry a G-23 also with a CTC. Peace, Chris
as I type this...G27 in smart carry. Pretty much my constant now in the summer. Used to use Tommy's gun packs a lot..still like them...but haven't worn them recently like I did when I posted in this thread before. BUG's rotate. Mostly between the Ruger LCR and the NAA Guardian in .32acp. in Kramer Confidant undershirt most of the time. even in summer it breathes very well. NAA Mini .22lr with holster grip is always in my EDC bag and gets clipped to my dress slacks pocket at work.
I just picked up an SA XD40SC. Super happy with it. I've shot my buddies Glocks and I'm more impressed with SA's features and field strip abilities. I think the XD line is picking up speed and is going to become more of a contender to the Glock line.
My current ccw is a sig p238. I have in my rotation a Kel-Tec P-32 but find I carry the sig more often.
The only area where my XD is lacking over my Glocks is the finish. My XD Sub rusts like an old Ford truck. I'm actually gonna send it out to Robar this week for a refin. I normally wouldn't bother going through the trouble for a poorly finished gun, but I LOVE every other aspect of the XD. The ergos and capacity are perfect for me.
Yeah they will be a contender since they have so many military and LE contracts...Oh wait thats Glock. The XD is poorly balanced and is much more prone to breakage. Ill stick with my Glock.
I don't recall Glock winning any military contracts (it's mainly Beretta, due to the military's insistence on an external safety, although Sig just won a contract w/their P2022). I haven't heard a thing about XDs falling apart any more than any other handgun out there. Mine continues to run flawlessly, after thousands of rounds.
Actually, worldwide they are the leading handgun in military arsenals. The XD used to be a gun called the HS2000. Nobody gave a rat's butt about it until Springfield put their name on it, and marketed the crap out of it. The gun writers graded it mediocre at best as the HS, then once Springfield bought them and put a different cool logo on them they were Gun of the Year. The Glock is the most dominating handgun in police and military circles since the 1911. I am not a fanboy. I do own one, but I also own and carry Sigs, and Smith and Wesson revolvers. The XD is very poorly balanced and muzzle heavy, not a good quality in a combat style handgun. They are also much more difficult to find replacement parts and whatnot by the average consumer if something breaks, unlike the Glock where parts are numerous, and rarely break.
