There is a lot of talk about what makes a good EDC handgun. What I want to know here is what are you using today. And if you want, tell us why that one.

Mine is a Kel-Tec P-3AT. When I bought it, it was the best combination for me of small, light, large caliber and cost.

I EDC a Glock 23. Rounded trigger gaurd, and high visability magazine indicators. The custom job I did myself to make CC, and round recognition a litlle easier. The 23 is a compact, but not sub compact, and while it is mainly in MPB with mod it fits well in the waistband also.
The reason I use Glock...Lay it in the mud, drive over it with a truck, pick it up, pull the trigger, and it goes bang. Works everytime, no fumbling for safety. I picked this quote up elswhere but it is a mantra worth memorizing.
"Keep yer booger hook off the bang switch"

When I carry, it is a Springfield XD9 service 4" barrel, 15 round mag. I have found that with the right hoslter I can conceal the XD as well as my Smith 2" 38spl. No safety to operate. Just grip the handle automatically operates the grip safety. Firing pin is blocked until trigger is in the full rear position.

That was a big selling point on the Glock too. No safety to fumble with.

Yes, I agree. At the time the XD seemed to fit my hands. I still plan to own a Glock in .45ACP.

Most of the Time I carry a Kimber Ultra Elite in a Milt Sparks IWB.
However, no matter what I carry as a primary, I always have a Seecamp 380.The LWS 380 serves as a primary as well.

Depending on how hot it is or where I'm going either my Springer Loaded 1911 or a Bersa .380.

If I am at work a Glock 17.

If I am off then it is most likely one of the following: Glock 17, 19, 26, or Kahr P9,

Usually a Kahr PM9 carried IWB or in a pocket holster. Always seeking other ideas, holster wise.

Wow, some of you guys carry some heavy fire power! I have a Kahr PM9 but I can't imagine carrying the damned thing every day....would like to have a Seecamp but they are a bit pricey and hard to get here in Firearm Phobic MA. Even better yet, I'd really like to have a S&W Scandium frame revolver....maybe this year.

Glock 17 with compensated barrel. I know it's a little large for CCW but I trust it.

I hear you Peter. Unfortunately where I live the one day I don't carry is the day I might not get to come home. I look forward to when we can move to the country, and the only varmits I have to worry about are the 4 legged kind.
